mattress help
A few months ago we bought a new mattress and box. Our old mattress was a box spring but this new one is just a box. It was about 500 dollars at a furniture store and is a Serta I think. In short we've not been finding it comfortable.
I found a brand new twin sized hospital mattress on the side of the road while riding this summer and after no one picked it up I procured it for a camping mattress. It's about 6 inches thick and dense foam. Wife likes it much better then our new mattress, even claiming it fixed her back pain. She's been sleeping on it now for over a month.
I can't find the same mattress in queen size, but am thinking of buying a similar one from amazon to place on top of our bed, or for just a bit more buying a second mattress to place on top of our new one that sucks.

Ditto, the mattress thread from a few months ago. We have two Brentwood Home memory foam mattresses, one twin bought more recently, one full bought a couple of years ago. Love 'em. Made in the USA. Delivered to the door, easy to set up, very affordable especially paired with a simple metal foundation frame -- although you can get fancier platforms to support the mattress.
