Falcons defense all went home in the 3rd quarter. Looks like they left the job up to the water and towel boys.

This is so disappointing. I wanted to see the Patriots have their asses handed to them. Looks like it was going that way in the first half. With that kind of lead their was no excuse for the Falcons to lose this game even against the Patriots. The Falcon turnover in the 3rd quarter was huge.
Also the Falcons racked up way too many stupid penalties.

Cheating helps too. It would not surprise me if two weeks from now we read Belachick slipped in a two headed coin.

Seriously, a coin flip is no way to end a super bowl. IMHO the who first TD rule stinks. A full quarter should need top be played or other team gets a chance at a TD, after that next TD wins.

At least in the super bowl. The top QBs in the NFL are likely going head to head. Might as well end it with the coin flip and call it a day because that will likely be the eventual outcome anyway.

The rules apply to both teams, but I see your point.

I am an old-ish guy. I still like to think that experience and poise can beat youth and strenght. Maybe I should amend that to read: experience and trickery!

Are you always premature?

Truth is, I never saw that comeback as even the most remote possibility and was celebrating for any Falcons fan too.

I enjoyed the first half immensely. I went to bed the score was 20 - 28 and I knew the Patriots were probably going to pull out a win. The Falcon's defense was spent by the second half. The offense needed one scoring drive to put the nail in the Patriots and they couldn't do it. Damn you Patriots.

Oh and to top it off the Puppy Bowl was a blow out.

how many times have we heard "no team has ever". that's the beauty of sports. on any given Sunday, anyone can win. after a cpl years ago, to come back from behind, to win, I never imagined there would be a nail biter worse than that. it's more than experience that won it, tho. it's sheer talent & dedication when preparation meets opportunity. Brady already has his eyes set on next year. they are the best dynasty, quarterback & coach in NFL history. the greatest comeback in NFL history. the long line of stats for this one game is very long. BUT the Falcons are a great team. really amazing. what they did from the start of the game was nothing less than astonishing. I would have had no trouble losing to them cuz they were so good.

yeah no worries, almost everyone hates the Pats. comes with the territory. I grew up in NY & it's been a challenge. wasn't a sports fan as a kid but became one when I had kids up here. we just kinda go with the flow. been a weird 20 years or so. also got kinda dicey for me standing in line for tickets in '04 outside Fenway when the local scalpers found out I was from NY. but you know what settled them down? when they found out I was there to get tickets to bring my son to his 1st Redsox game. that did it. was like the magic thing that surpasses all rivalries, is the love of the game & it's meaning for kids. they also told me how to buy 4 tickets & sell them 2 for double. wound up seeing our 1st game for free!

Sweet!

I told my kids to credit today's snow day to Tom Brady. I don't think they'll remember by the time they get to school tomorrow.

The Falcons should have sent in all the reserves on Defense in OT.
Falcons had nothing left. Worth a shot vs being slayed like plyons.
