Not a big fan but some of the not-too-busy or big ones on girls have started to seem cool to me. I didn't used to like them at all on them but I think I was on a mission to discourage because of ones that were big enough to distract from a beautiful girls looks. I don't care what guys do.

If you're gonna get one go sober.

I got a bunch, none bicycle related. More to come. Goal is to die with basically a whole body suit worth of them...

I wouldn't call myself a tattoo fan, but I have one, and it's bike themed.
It's one my right calf ;

Only one I have is a "stick and poke" a friend did when I was about 16. I've got a couple of ideas which have stood the test of time that I'd like to make happen... I'm just too cheap for the quality I'd like. There's so many butchers out there.

I'm gonna get one when I turn 80... so if I regret it for the rest of my life it won't be that big of a deal.

For those that have them, I understand your freedom to do so. Personally, I think of them as human graffiti.

Thank you! the human body is not a NYC subway train or a wall in the ghetto.

Although I have none, nor desire any, I've enjoyed/admired many of the tats on shows like Bad Ink, Inkmasters, and Tattoo Nightmares. One thing I learned from Inkmasters is that older skin, say someone who is 50+ like me, has its own challenges. Another thing, getting a tat around a scar (to conceal it) doesn't always work out since the skin is not as uniform as a non-scarred part of the body, and therefore does not take up the ink as predictably.
If I were gonna get one, it'd be something timeless. Definitely no names of SO.

just search on whatever image you might want + tattoo and you'll dig up a bunch.

Lately I've been considering getting a bike chain around my right ankle. It would be my first (and probably last) tattoo.

Oh, this really very cool idea of a tattoo, I think I should look through the internet.

Haha, then it sounds like I should think longer and harder about getting my first.

One thing is indisputable; tattoos are a trend at the moment, but unlike beards, they don't come off so easy once the fad passes.

I can't decide whether I would prefer a realistic style with shading, so the links actually look like metal, or a minimalistic line-art style, with just crisp outlines.

Now that I think about enough to describe in words, I realize the answer for me is minimalistic.
