Tired of Viagra ads on my social media
Since I'm a 47 year old man, I must have ED and need the little blue pill. Without any details, I'll just say 'nope'. SMFH! [/rant]

Given that she was in her mid 40s, looked 20 and was built like a triathlete, I have to wonder how often her "testing" involved showing a little extra cleavage and watching for a reaction.

Worked for a psychiatrist for a while who flat out refused to prescribe the stuff. Said more than half the people that wanted it admitted they had no problem...responding...to more attractive women than their wives, and so she'd recommend sending the wife in to work on whatever eating disorder, utter lack of concern for personal hygiene, etc. was actually causing the problem.

I've been with the same person for 30 years (we met when we were both teenagers), she's not built like a teenager any more... But I'm in love with the person, not the body. For the record, I might have the body of a younger man, but I have the hairline of an old man and the backhair of a wookie (HOT! I know!).

There's a difference between aging and just not giving a crap what you look like anymore. The woman who stayed fit and dressed well right up until the ring was on then switched to junk food and ever-expanding sweat pants often still tries to blame her husband for not finding her attractive anymore.

I go back to what I said, if your partner is putting on an act (staying fit, dressing nice) to get a marriage, then this is a superficial marriage. In other words, a relationship built on a false facade will not last.... IMHO
BTW - it's YouTube spamming me with the Viagra ads

Let's not make this just about the women, many men go from the hard-bodies in their dating years to the beer-belly after they get married. And during dating, many men go above-and-beyond to be nice, and stop putting any effort into their wife after marriage.

I do flag ads in Facebook, and don't see these dumb ads there. I have noticed a way to flag ads in YouTube, and YouTube embeds the ad (click here in 5 second to skip this ad... ). YouTube allows you to spend money to not see ads, I'm just cheap.
So I go to YouTube to get an example ... and look it's a Viagra ad!

I can adjust this screen for YouTube, but there's no opt out for pharma ads:

Ironically, I do not use ad-blockers because I sell on-line ads for an industrial publication.

Good point, but I'd say it has to do with people in a relationship for the wrong reason. Everybody ages, and if you don't love your partner's aging body, the problem is you, not them.

Just the other day we "discovered a new position, by accident..."

We both laughed about it.

I have laugh about the ad spam though... back in the day when email spam was ridiculous... I recall getting both penis enlargement ads and breast enlargement ads... sure made for a chuckle trying to imagine the target demographic.

Amen to that... 33 years.

If you're browsing Facebook from a computer browser it's easy to block virtually all ads and anything you don't want to see:
I used to recommend Social Fixer but it's still too sluggish and non-intuitive. And while the developer seems like a nice guy his volunteer tech support forum mods are insufferable jackasses. You don't dare ask a question or incur their sarcastic wrath. Not worth it for an inferior filter when FBP works better, quicker and is more intuitive to use.
With these browser tools I see almost no ads or sponsored posts from my PCs.
And I see few or no ads via my mobile apps either -- the regular Facebook app for the Kindle Fire HD tablet, or the Puffin Browser Facebook app, which is quicker but a bit buggy.
- Ad Block Plus, uBlock Origin, or similar for Chrome, Firefox, etc.
- Script blockers to filter out the tracking stuff used to present targeted ads.
- The FBP extension -- "Facebook Purity" -- to filter out topics, names, people or junk you don't want cluttering up your FB feed.

But some websites handle ads and tracking atrociously. Sorry to say that bike forums is one of them. This site is unnavigable without ad and script blockers. It becomes so sluggish I can type a word in a comment box and wait 10-15 seconds for the letters to begin to appear. With all ads and scripts blocked it's instantaneous.
Unfortunately a photography website I used to moderate was just as bad. I finally quit mod chores there a couple of years ago when the oft-promised upgrades and improvements failed to appear. I'm told they're finally rolling out the new site now, something like five years later, but I've lost interest in moderating a site that alienated 90% of its members years ago.

You can still use ad blockers selectively to filter out the junk and allow the types of ads that are relevant to you.

Show me the most infinitely beautiful woman in the world and I'll bet there is someone intimately close to her becoming somewhat bored at playing on the same course.......and vice versa for that matter. But we're the gender with the evidence.

I might look into paid YouTube. I use it a ton, it might be worth removing the embedded ads.

I'm curious, how long have you been with your partner?

The trick with ads is to actually let the companies figure profile you. I tried obscuring myself and got ads saying bimbos with D cups spend all day googling me on the Internet. When I tried to mess with my age, it was all about financial services and Depends, or video games.
So now they have accurate info and the ads that dominate are mountaineering equipment, stuff for hard core whitewater and sea kayakers, high end cycling zoot, stuff about dogs, and whatever products I've recently been searching.
BTW, marking ads as irrelevant or offensive really helps.

I think that the ads for Viagra, Cialis and Levitra are funny, especially the caution about seeing a doctor if you get an erection that lasts more than four hours.
I think that instead of going to the doctor, most guys would go around showing off their tumescent organ.
