april photo thread

I’m going to be off the net until next week so I’m posting April's theme two days early.

April’s theme is "metal", so your photo should include metal or a reference to metal. This could be a metal staircase, zinc sun cream, an olympic gold medal, plutonium, steel train tracks, Metallica, the Pittsburgh Steelers, coins, copper-colored hair, a caesium clock, gold teeth, neodymium magnets, a tin shed, the Roman god Mercury etc etc…..it's entirely your choice so let your imagination run free! It would be helpful if you give your picture a title to help us understand your point of view if you think it’s needed. same rule as usual....photo must be taken by you.

NOW….as a special bonus this month if we don’t get at least 15 submissions this dog dies

…. not my submission....an early national lampoon mag cover

I can imagine the media uproar that a modern-day photo like that would cause.

Take a closer look at the tuft of dried grass and the rust along the bottom edge - though, come to think of it, I could have converted it to B&W.
Many years ago I worked with my Dad in the blacked-out bathroom with a home made enlarger, and we counted the clicks on an old alarm clock to time different exposures on a strip of photo paper.
