Been a long time

So I've not been here in several years. Many actually I guess. Sui is here, Joe and Shadiyah no. Patentcad yes. Sadly Tom is dead. Looks like Machka is going strong. Things change, they remain the same. Good to see it still going on.

A gentle reminder... it's Siu. Easy mistake, but you know how bosses are about spelling their names....

Yep, Machka is still going strong, in fact, we are still going strong as a couple.

Pcad dips in and out depending on his music gig schedule and having fun driving his new Corvette.

So, what has kept you away, and are you still riding?

I do ride, but I was always more into triathlons. I knew you had gotten married. Congrats on the bliss. I have found that there are too many internet destinations, and that actually doing stuff depends a lot on spending less time on the web. This was always a fun place. And still is I see.

I remember MERTON, Jscharr?, the tardiscycle guy (termiteking?), phantomcow (elite mod), and some troll guy whose username was a character from a novel (something with pirates) and actually wrote pretty intelligently. Oh and DannoXYZ and koffee brown.

Beware of who you mention by name....there is power in a name. They might hear and come haunt you.

A year or so before he died I had a conversation with him suggesting he give up coffee for superior energy levels and better overall health. He said he just loved the taste of it. I don't know that daily caffeine intake was a key trigger in his heart attack, but he often comes to my mind about the dangers of heavy use of stimulants.

Thanks for the thought. I wouldn't say I "came back"...just my annual (or maybe semi-annual) poke the head in.

Nice to see a few still remember me.

She must just mean people that left as well as died. Gbcb is not dead. I'm friends with him on Facebook. He got married a year or two ago, and <just checked> posted 2 days ago.

No, Stacey was the one who passed. The others were ones I used to chat with a lot here. They should be still "around".

Sadly no. When we bought a house a few years ago and were trying to get rid of old things, I decided to sell it to another cycling newbie hoping it would bring them the joy it brought me. I was riding newer bikes anyway, like my Trek 520 (mostly commuter) and the Felt.

It was a painful parting though....
