Game of Thrones

WARNING: This thread will probably contain a lot of spoilers if you haven't seen the show yet. 'Nuff said.

Its time we had a Game of Thrones thread up in here. So many questions... So little time... So few people around to chat them up!

Daenerys and Jon finally sacked up. Nice! A little incestuous, but nice.

Who will kill The Mountain? The Hound? He needs to kill his brother for vindication, but I suspect Brienne will get his back.

Cersei says she will support the fight against the White Walkers, but reveals to Jamie her true intentions of double-crossing Dany and Jon.

Jamie finally leaves Cersei. 'Bout time.

Little Finger dies whining like the little weasel-dick that he is. 'Bout time.

Viserion gets killed. Sad. He's brought back by the Ice King. Even Sadder.

OKAY! What do you guys think?

I think it blows monkey butt that they came out with so few episodes and we have to wait two years (at least) before the "end" of the series. Guess that happens when you catch up to the writer.

I feel the makers of Game of Thrones are just winging it now from episode to episode.

I thought it was great - except for the Dany/Jon incest with Bran narrating Jon's parentage overtop

Arya will probably kill Cersei or die trying once Jaime reveals her double cross. Not sure what she has left to do otherwise.

Glad to see Littlefinger meet his end. I wouldn't have liked him getting over on the Stark sisters after all they've been through.

Hope the Hound and Tormund survive. HBO should create a spinoff with just those two.

Hard to tell what happens next with Arya. Not too many people left on her list. She sort of gave The Hound a reprieve.

Its interesting to ponder that surely Jon Snow/Sand, now Aegon Targaryen is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne, but what of Gendry? They would have to dishonor the rights of Robert's Rebellion for it to happen. Will Gendry get killed in battle? Seems to me that he would have to either give it up, or get himself killed somehow for either Dany or Aegon to sit upon the Iron Throne.

Hmmm...

S8 date is still TBD is it not? To me it seems risky. Gawd forbid one or more of the key actors meets their end prior to the last scene's filming.

Of course, taking their sweet time with producing these last few seasons did allow the kids in the cast to literally grow up. Especially Bran and Arya.

I saw a counter online that indicated a 2019 release, just under two years away. It appears there are several out there that are not official. The hubbub seems to indicate that due to the book not being written, that it couldn't BE before '19.

I guess we will see.

In the last episode it struck me that Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister is the best character in the series. There are lots of great actors/characters, but Lena/Cersei consistently delivers. The Hound is a close second.

Jon and Daenerys are kind of one dimensional in comparison.

Np. I figured that the Foosters would be cool with a little GoT action, and didn't realize there was a forum for movies and other media.

I normally do not agree with drunken dwarves, but this is spot on, sir. I read somewhere that Lena and Kit Harrington are the highest paid of all the cast, something like 4.5m per episode.

The most satisfying bits were the whole trial of Littlefinger scene, and the wights finally getting through the wall.

Most easily predicted scene in the next season: Jon's lineage is confirmed when the other dragon allows Jon to ride/command it, in spite of everyone being all, like, "No whey!" when Sam and Bran spell it out.

I still wonder what's up Sam's sleeve with the knowledge in the books he stole. And surely his heritage -- since his bro and Da got fried -- will somehow come into play, yeah? Isn't he technically head of some kind of House or Dukedom now, or something?

How long do we think it will take playerz on the living side to focus on the white walkers as a way of killing wide swaths of the dead army...?

Will Bron travel with Jamie?

Will Heartsbane, the ancestral Valyrian steel sword of House Tarly, come into any significant play? Its still in Sam's posession.

Wishful thinking: Aegon and Daenerys fly upon Drogon and Rhaegal to eliminate Viserion. Aegon will jump onto the back of Viserion, kick the Night King in the nuts, then plunge his sword into Viserion.

Will Tormund ever get to shag Brienne?

Maybe Brienne will get it on with Jamie, since he's no longer with Cersei? I'm sure that with only one hand it would be like riding a mechanical bull... on high.

I think Bron definitely joins Jaime as Cersei hates him - on the show and in real life. Drogon may very well eat him though. Hard feelings and all for shooting him.

Prediction: The Frost Dragon gets taken out by an obsidian-tipped über Lannister bolt. And several of the white walkers by obsidian-tipped arrows. They latter of which will drop the minions that were raised by their respective WW. (I'm assuming the Knight King isn't the only one that can raise the dead, since John and his merry men took out the individual WW...dropping all but one...the one they captured) I really cannot fathom why the O-tipped arrow trick wasn't tried by Mr. formerly-known-as-John-Snow.

The Knight King will get de-knighted by Jamie, with his dying breath. No idea who takes out Zombie Mountain.

Ah, kingslayer 2.0! I figured he would append queenslayer to kingslayer and take out Cersei.
