Apparently he's riding side saddle at 100mph (to keep his steed between he and the raging pack of scalp-hunting Iroquois to avoid detection)

As I've said about a fellow BF member a while back.

It's possible that he might be good enough that he can ride like an idiot without actually being one.

Regardless of what you think in general, you have to credit his bike handling skills.

No one really knows until thorough testing is done. Before that, we are all just guessing at face value
Can we really accuse another human being for being a genius because he/she wears a helmet and rides at a reasonable (reasonable being debatable as well) pace?

To you and me, this person may seem like an idiot but I'm sure he knows how to do these stunts properly as nothing has happened in 19 years. Ninja riders, salmoners, and red light and stop sign runners should attest to that.

I imagine Evil Knievil got a lot of comments similar to yours? The same might be said for the original crop of racers in the Super Bike races way back when? These guys are known for speeds well in excess of what this guy was doing, while hanging way off the bike seat, and even dragging a knee?

If you mean "acting" as in playing a role, then yes. For all we know this could be a professional stuntman, or highly skilled cyclist operating well within his skill set, and so not an idiot, only pretending (acting) to be one.

I put this in the same category as the "crazy" freestyle stunt riders whose videos of riding along bridge arches, jumping from building to building, and so on we see and enjoy all the time.

Put simply, if he can do this without crashing, he's a daredevil. If he crashes, he's a nut.

That's a fetish. Unless that's a horse under there.

Yeah, he's riding prone to beat the wind, like Rollie Free setting the speed record way back when.

Doing it in the highway traffic seems pretty dumb, though...

Not even remotely comparable FB.

He's an idiot. Period.

Stunting on a multi lane public highway filled with cars, operated by non professional drivers with no helmet = Idiot. It doesn't matter how high his skill level is because stuff out of his control can cause a crash. Tires fail, chains break, animals run across the road, spark plugs foul, two strokes seize, etc. I've seen it up close and personal more times (many) than I care to remember.

I'm a huge fan (participant) of extreme speeds and stunts. Stunting and high speeds without a helmet are a badge of stupidity.
