December Photo Contest 2017

Avoiding the holiday cliché here; although you can certainly post your holiday pics if you want.

This month's theme is: "Wait... What!?"

Post photos of the incongruous; oddities of object and setting. Subjects that should not be in the same frame, and yet they are. Captions are optional but welcome.

My example: "Venice on the Saint Croix"

This gondolier must be lost! He's plying the waters of the Saint Croix River at Stillwater, Minnesota, USA.

"Wait!..... WHAT?!?"

my lovely bride let me do a 5 days solo ride around Mi-Thumb last September. While pedaling north up the 'east coast', THE THING in the picture below caught my eye. I was drawn to it like a moth to a bug zapper.

on my STRAVA account, I titled the ride:

Tip 'o Mi-Thumb Tour d3: Follow Your Dreams! or, in my case, RUN FROM YOUR ONE ARMED CHAINSAW WIELDING BUNNY RABBIT NIGHTMARE!!!

-- absolutely love Ronald waving in the background

Well, the Albany waterfront, that sits across the bay from San Francisco, is a rather unusual place and you never quite know what you'll run into. It used to be a dump where people now just go to create--whatever strikes their fancy. It is quintessentially incongruent!

Very nice, Scarbo. But you have to select one (1) image to enter into the contest. Good luck!

Oh, I see (it's the first time I've posted in here).

I will select No. 1--the rider on that big reindeer or whatever it is!

Excellent. I may post a couple other shots just for fun before the end of the month - There are a couple more that I shot last year that meet the criteria*. This one, for instance:

*But of course, my first image is still my contest entry.
