Whatcha doin? (2018 edition)
Starting up this chit chat thread again for any topic.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's been a week today that I've gone meatless. Not feeling any different, which is good, that means Im doing well. My son started on Christmas. He didn't know I was planning on doing this, so that was kind of weird timing.
I am in need of doing laundry. I hate doing laundry. Been putting it off waiting to get away from 0 to yesterday when it was 33° before heading out.
Except it snowed all day. Had to park half a mile from my place and walk home and dig the driveway out. It wasn't a just push the snow kind of snow. With them plowing the road and depositing 12 inches of it at the head of my driveway and being a heavy wet snow from the elevated temperatures, it was a dig and toss each shovel full. This is after 10 hours of bending over at work with my back acting up all day.
2 hours of shoveling I get to walk back to the car and barely get it up the hill to my place. Screw laundry, don't feel like sitting in a laundromat now until 9:00.
Maybe tonight. Damn new furnace, was going to buy a washer and dryer this spring. I've almost exhausted my quarters from keeping change the past 2 years. Frickin laundromats are expensive.
Waiting for it to quit being cold as balls or raining so I can actually ride my bike. I have been on it twice since November for a total under 15 miles. Aside from that I have been planning and playing quite a bit more paintball. Gotten a group of old friends together to do a couple of scenario games in the region, and having loads of fun with it.
With the above mentioned bad weather it's been making work a madhouse in so much that we service sprinkler systems and the out of ordinary cold has caused a lot of pipe breakage. Good for business, but makes things crazy.
I've been trying to get back on the bike again myself. I have an injury that really limits my activity level - torn tendons.
My bikes are ready to go but with my wonky schedule, it's either been raining, super cold or dark when I can go. Right now the fog is so thick, I guarantee I'd get hit.
^ouch, sorry to hear about your health. Heal up first, there will (hopefully) be time after. Pushing too hard with that situation can go way south, real fast.
I've had this injury for over two years now. The only way to fix it is to remove another tendon that's making the first two tear. If I remove it, then the other tendons won't be rubbing against it and tearing more. But the tendon they want to remove has a purpose, and that's to keep the other two secure it place. If I have the surgery done, then the other two tendons will be wandering and moving around in my arm/wrist and that's just weird.
This has really limited me. I had to change jobs, I can't do my martial arts or work out in the gym any more, and I can only ride very short distances. The pain is so bad that I can't even hold an empty coffee cup.
Not doing any of these things is what stops the pain and the swelling. So right now, I'm fine. Until I start to participate in activity.
So at this restaurant down the street, there was a drug deal going down inside the building. The cops were called by a citizen who witnessed it. When they arrived, one party had left and the other was about to leave and was in his car. The cops approached and saw a gun on the center console. They backed off, guns drawn and told him to put his hands on the steering wheel. He did at first then suddenly reached down for the gun. The PD shot him and he succumbed to his injuries.
Now people are saying "all he was tryna do is buy some food"
Yeah right.
