Super Blue Blood Moon

Anyone else saw the eclipse of Jan 31 / Feb 1?

These were taken in front of my apartment. First one taken during the eclipse. Second one as it started to end.

The blue blood moon is known as the horseshoe crab moon.

I did get to see a red blur on the clouds yesterday morning, was a hint that was cool. The last full lunar eclipse I saw was not as dramatic as the orange moons we were getting last summer/fall from wildfires. These pictures are awesome though!

I saw it as I set out on my morning commute yesterday, shortly after 6am in SoCal. It was a few minutes away from setting over the hillside to the west of me.

It was maybe 80-90% totality, there was a wedge shaped glob of light on the left side, and it glowed so bright that, combined with the rest of the full circle which was quite visible, it didn't look circular, it looked like a bright lump on the left side.

I took a picture with my $5 tracfone, but basically all you can see is an elongated bright dot. I haven't seen any pictures online that look like what I saw, although I guess OP's second picture kind of gets at it, because of the brightness, the whole circle doesn't look perfectly round. Mayabe it's just an optical illusion

The full blood moon was exactly midnight here, a perfect 3D looking orb in the sky. Didn't think i'd see anything as the sky was thick cloud all day and night until midnight like a miracle a hole opened up then again 30 minutes later.

The wife and I saw it out of our bedroom window the morning of. It was a little eerie, I'll admit.

I took a drive out to the local gypsum mine for a night ride the night before. The gypsum reflected the bright moonlight perfectly, so I didn't need my lights for most of the ride. I started just as the moon started to peak at dusk.

Would a super blue blood moon never be caught dead drinking beer in a joint with sawdust floors?
