Definitely bonehead by Ricciardo. That's what happens when a team races against each other and not with everyone else. Those two have always had a little inside tiff.
I couldn't figure out the stop by Vettel either. Had he stayed out and Bottas gone in, he would have been in the lead. Oh well.

I can't understand the appeal of Monaco. Its an iconic course, and the F1 organization always hypes it, but I've heard the drivers hate it due to how narrow the course roads are, which prevents passing just about everywhere, and all the houses/buildings, and infrastructure around it can literally 'hide' accidents around blind corners.

Definitely iconic but old and I think past it's prime considering modern cars nowadays. Very tough to overtake.
Funny how those Pirellis just plateaud at a certain point of the race and no one could really make headway.
Congrats to Ricciardo!

his lap time to win the pole was unde 71 seconds ..

not to surprised the transmission lost 3 of 8 gears by the end of the race..

Another Aussie won the Indy 500.

I attended the race twice.
First time, I decided to go just a few days before the race, and I slept in my car on the outskirts of town. 1983.

I remember walking by some of the docks, early morning, looking at the yachts' trash bins, all empty champagne bottles and very fancy flower arrangements! Many boats are actually corporate assets, used to entertain your main clients.

Anyway, like it or not, it is a place like no other.
I can't comprehend how they can cram everything in there - that there are a number of other racing series going on as well.
I have great slides, as, back then, you could walk around the improvised garages by the pink building, and near the hospitality suites. Catching Bernie E. talking to some manager how he wanted to restore some bling to the show, while I was faking taking scenery photos a few yards away, as fun!

Cool!

The good old days, I hope the new owners vision isn't anything like Brian France and NASCAR.

It must have been a Spectrum/Charter issue. I received the broadcast without interruption, except for the red flag...

SC bracketed.. lap2 VSC right near the end ,

looked like they paid a whole lot of money on paint around the course.

I only got to see highlights but it looked like one of the best races of the year...a lot of passing and narrow time gaps.

Yes, great race, good result. But I get a bit fed up with Mercedes and the British press putting pressure on Whiting and the stewards. Especially because it appears to work, penalty for Vettel in France for what normally would have gone unpunished, even a bigger penalty for Raikkonen two races later after Mercedes made a lot of noise. A safety car that helped Hamilton a lot while the virtual safety car would have been sufficient. No mention at all of it in the press, hardly any mention that Hamilton screwed up his start himself. Mercedes and Hamilton were very naughty with their accusations, that wasn't a heat of the moment thing but a very deliberate tactic to put even more pressure on Whiting and the Stewards.
