2018 F1 Season Underway

The Brit is off to a flying start, to the dismay of Ferrari.

Hamilton sets a course qualifying record. Teammate Bottas crashes in round three of qualifying. Vettel has the smile wiped from his face. Raikkonen...is Raikonen.

I'm ready for the grid lights to go out, and the drive for five to begin.

F1 still needs to work on that friendly family car sounding turbo V6 , not very blood pumping.

Now this V12 gets one's blood pumping.

They do. If used, he will have to start from the back of the grid or pit lane. If they can fix the wrecked car, he will start 10th.

The only reason people watch the Australian GP is because they haven't seen F1 at all for months. It's always a boring race, very happy with the result though.

Once Hamilton was relegated to 2nd, after the VSC,SC, it got kind of dull .. guess I missed the spin outs and crashes..

Merc let Hamilton down with too slow of a pace during the VSC giving the lead to Vettel. Long way to go for the championship.

I am a hardcore F1 fan, excuse my rant....

The new TV package in the USA is a total joke. Recorded practice - Got College hoops. Recorded pre-race show - no audio for the first 20 min....

Liberty Media now owns F1 (an American media company?). They fire our well loved broadcast team (I like them anyway) and don't even replace them. US is too small of a market to bother with their own broadcast team? Cheaper to just give us Sky Feed. Random cut away's with the commentators just cut off mid sentence and then cut back in with no mention of what just happened while in commercial. Absolutely horrible!

So Liberty Media couldn't figure out this is a snub to all the US fans? The Sky team doesn't even acknowledge the USA market. How about saying welcome to all the fans from USA or something (oh maybe that did happen when there was no audio, LOL). Only 3 engines per season and the ridiculous grid penalties? Halo's blocking the in car cameras, Good lord what next? Never thought I would say I miss Bernie.

Probably all a ploy to help sell the on-line / pay per view package....

Could be an interesting weeked, with the temperatures and Mercedes cooling problems, Ferrari coming to grips with the handling of their new car (aerodynamic upgrade to adress the rear end issue has to wait till China). RBR probably not up front with the circuits long straights and elevation changes.
@TankSlapper: I don't think Liberty understands what it has bought.

I can't wait to see how the Haas (baby Ferrari) cars do if they actually manage to bolt their wheels on properly. I'm curious as to whether the performance we saw from them in testing and early at Australia is just a fluke or actually indicative of an improvement.

Interesting results so far...Mercedes will get their stuff together soon and start winning. Ferrari is doing a very good job and Haas seems to have found some speed. Each year all I really hope for is a good battle between as many teams as possible. Getting Red Bull and Renault into more battles would be nice.

Last weekend's race was awesome! Seb did a great job holding off Bottas.
Red Bull needs to get their act together.
I hope tonight's race is another good one.

Ferrari is off to a great start. Mercedes has to be a bit surprised/concerned.

The lights go out in about an hour.

Well that was a messy race. Freakin' Verstappen with one of his overly aggressive and stupid moves. Ferrari messed up with their pit strategy. Good for Ricciardo though!

Definitely exciting. Congrats to Ricciardo, a good drive and good pit timing. Mercedes and Ferrari seem only concerned with each other.

Isn't that what red bull wants....? a classic theme of #1 and #2 fighting enough so #3 slips into first thus leaving 1 and 2 confused.....? It was a great race tho.

Total bonehead move by Ricciardo for sure! I don't understand why Vettel pitted that 3rd time...I thought his tires were pretty fresh and that he could have held off any challenges for 3 laps.
