Dreams where you are living in a different house?

Windchaser's post reminded me of a recurring dream I keep having. First I should say that lots of my dreams are very vibrant and realistic.

I keep having his same dream where I am living in a house where I find new rooms that I did not know that existed. I find a room and wonder why I haven't used it before. It is strange because I sort of know in the dream that it is not my house but in the dream it is my house.

I had a variant last night. I was letting people into my house. In the dream the front door looked odd to me like it was not my house but in the dream it was my house. It was very bizarre.

Anyone else have these kind of dreams?

Dreams most people have are showing up naked at work or school, being back in school and not knowing answers to a pop quiz etc. Wondering if this is a common dream too.

I have this one occasional reoccurring dream that I am in a house that I live in... (it is never a house I have actually lived in) and discover a secret passage in a closet or utility room... I follow that passage and discover a bunch of finished rooms under the house. Not caves, but finished rooms. No doubt this is some sort of mental combination of TV images and my very early youth where as a young school child we were introduced to bomb shelters... Or perhaps Freud would have a great time with my "womb" fetish.

When I was younger, I had some reoccurring dreams about a house we did live in... and crawling past the large picture window so as to not be seen by the prying alien light/probe beams. Yikes.

I also have flying dreams... which frankly are quite cool... remember to face the wind when attempting take off.

Same. My recurring dreams in adulthood are mostly about homes that are at the same time familiar and strange. The rooms, buildings, land and water all continuously morph throughout the dreams.

No trick figuring those out. We moved a lot when I was growing up. I never cared for that lifestyle and preferred to set down roots. I'm still in an apartment where I've been for 11 years, even though I don't particularly like it. But I hate to move, the rent is affordable and there's no such thing as the perfect rental home.

I wanted to buy my grandparents' home after they died. It was the closest thing I ever had to a real home. But their will divided everything equitably among dozens of family members and the only way to settle it was to sell the home and property. It's the place that figures in most of my dreams, although it's never quite the same, always a little skewed.

I was reading this and I had to look it twice to make sure I had not written it. I have these exact types of recurring dreams sometimes, though not lately. It's not always a house, sometimes it's an apartment or some other dwelling. Sometimes in the dream when I find this new room I recall thinking that it would be a great bike room LOL.

Not a different house, but the one I live in now on a bigger lot (maybe 3-4 acres?) and with a building out back that has multiple rooms in it. One room is bicycles and a repair shop, another is stocked with acoustic guitars and an upright piano right in the middle, another is a shooting range that, when you walk in, has no ceiling or walls and is 100's of yards deep for long range target shooting. More rooms are there, but I've not been in them. Around the perimeter of the property is pavement that's banked at the corners so it makes a great cycling/running track. Out back there's also a large lawn with a few trees around the perimeter, and its always early morning or late afternoon (lo-angled sun), I can't tell which. Also no one else around . . ever . . . in this recurring dream.

I've had one particular dream that I'm living in a very, very, very, large house, that I am in a constant state of remodeling or repairing it, only to wake to my regular sized house.
