Congratulations Tiger Woods

In a sport riddled with talented players who's game seemed to leave them overnight and never return (David Duval, Chip Beck, Ian Baker Finch,....) today's first win in 5 years for Woods completes a remarkable comeback. He was close at the PGA, and has steadily been getting more and more confident.

Golf is more mental than any other sport, coming back from the fall from grace in his personal life, not to mention 4 back surgeries is one of the best stories of the year. Jack Nicklaus can start to worry again.

He broke a lot of barriers and since then people from all backgrounds started picking up a golf club and started playing. Great to see him win again.

I guess I can pull this Sept '18 thread back out and get some more mileage out of it as he won The Masters tournament today, 1 of the 4 golf "majors". Woods kind of fell off after that Sept regular tournament win, especially in majors where he would put himself in contention and then find ways to lose. Today was reminiscent of days gone by when everyone else made the mistakes. The next 2 majors are at courses he's already won on, so maybe Jack Nacklaus's record is back in jeopardy....just 3 away from tying it now.

It was a good final round to watch today. I enjoyed the outcome.

I think it is great but before touting the social aspects, he is 3/4 Thai, and 1/4 Black therefore Asian in ethnicity. He brought all of his problems on himself by poor life choices, except for the injuries which I think were a partial cover up for his drug and alcohol addictions. However, still it shows that perseverance is key. Congrats Tiger!

I always thought his decline seemed premature, due as much to burnout and distractions as to injuries. Maybe he needed that slack period to recharge. He should still have some good years left if he wants 'em badly enough.

I agree with you and I really don't care much for him but in all fairness to him I really don't care much about golf.
