A road bike on Mars that only weighs 10lbs is easy. Martian gravity is only 38% of Earth's. Also since there's barely an atmosphere, there's barely any "air" resistance.

Fusion power has been 20 years away for the last 50 years. If and when it finally happens, it will be due to some major new advance, not the same old people doing the same old thing only bigger this time

Sounds like a one-way trip, like the Heaven's Gate Cult heading out to the dark side of the comet Hale-Bopp, only... a lot more expensive.

Mars does not have a Walmart but there is a supermarket, a post office and a drug store there.

+1.

This is one case where it's really not about the destination, it's about the journey.

We'd better get off the earth soon. It ain't gonna be around much longer and we need to Scatter, Adapt, and Remember.

Absolutely. I also routed for the infected in that horrible sequel to "28 Days Later," "28 Weeks Later." I wanted every non-infected person to die. That's how bad the film is.
