January photo thread....Glass

This month's theme is a photo of glass, the word glass or an interpretation of glass….like a reflection in or just a window/s, eye glasses, shards of, a glass eye, the cover of ‘through the looking glass and what alice found there’, breaking the glass at a jewish wedding, glass point of a polymer, a glass/bottle etc etc etc… let your imagination run free! So..share a photo, see others' take on the topic, and enjoy the thread.

I look forward to seeing your interpretations of this month's theme.

….and for those who remember…i won’t bring cheeseface into this again unless i have to

rules…you have to be the person who took the photo!!

At the beautiful translucent bar at Ember, Saint Simon’s Island, Georgia. Natural glass so to speak.

Two of the six shades on my 120 year old gas & electric chandelier.
They are real carbon filament bulbs, 30W each, just somewhat brighter than a candle flame, and a similar color of light. The glass looks way better with these warm bulbs compared to modern bulbs. 180W to barely light the room.

On the C&O Canal - the reflection of the Paw Paw tunnel on the smooth-as-glass surface of the water, lasting only until the ripples created by the first breeze of the morning chase it away.

Smooth like glass. Flat like some glass. And the light was so flat no color registered. Reflective like a mirror.

Yeah, I'm not seeing the pic, either. This happens when the image is hosted elsewhere and something goes wonky, like the image address changes or the viewing permissions are wrong. Currently, Google-hosted images seem to have a shelf-life and Flickr is in the process of killing a lot of old photos, among other things. BF recently made changes to their image upload/hosting, so going that route (clicking the mountain landscape icon and entering the image url in the dialog box) is pretty convenient vs using the IMG tags.
