Apple has a way of turning things around... they may still be a good investment. While they currently are not the king of hardware, their OS is strong, and their marketing IS fantastic, and their following is quite loyal.

Wish I had bought their stock back in the day when I was repairing their computors in the state college repair facility. Of course, back then, at those wages, bread was a luxury.

This really should be in P&R.

Its quite astonishing to see the religious following that these tech giants have.

Good grief, humanity existed for thousands of years before any of this "smart" technology.

The internet is useful at times, but damn, it can also be a huge waste of time.

Reading through this thread is just one example.

I wouldn't mind getting a really simple feature phone that just does the basics, I don't care for all of the tracking software (and hardware backdoors) that is pre-installed on just about every modern device.

Seriously though, I won't ever have to buy this crap, I have an endless supply of second hand stuff that I can use.

I use Linux, or if it doesn't require an OS, even better.

The X design was a joke. "Edge to edge" with an ugly unsightly notch to distract from every single video viewing or gaming experience. No headphone jack unless you buy their overpriced proprietary adapter, conveniently oh so easy to lose so you have to buy them over and over again. AirPods which don't fit securely and are not wired, easy to lose and only $200 a pop to replace. Not to mention you look like a dork wearing them.

iPads which bend more easily than sliced bread or a slinky or a noodle.

Laptops with no usbs3, sd-card, hdmi or MagSafe. But enjoy the overheating processors and faulty displays because they cheaped out on connectors. Have fun shopping for overpriced dongles. Be sure not to lose or forget to pack em for your next presentation or you're S out of L!

When was the last time they updated their Mac Pro line? 2011?

This company is a laughingstock. But perfect for the stoner and SSRI teens and young adults keeping the company rich.

^They both suck.^

I have a phone for emergencies, usually two if I'm on my bike.

If I needed something modern, I can only hope that this becomes a real product, I doubt it will ever get FCC approval, or any other certification.

Foo posts do not count. If you spent more time in Foo, you'd know that that sock puppet comment is out of line. She is an outstanding photographer and class act.

Should a post about American Idol also be in P&R?

I read somewhere Apple is losing the battle in the China market mostly because it is not innovating locally. Apple is not catering to Chinese consumer's peculiar taste in phones.
While indigenous cellphone makers are quick to adapt. They have also improved quality that matches Apple's. The effect is Chinese consumer no longer see Apple as a good value.
Once upon a time, owning an iphone in China was a status symbol. But it is losing luster at an alarming rate. China is such a huge market for Apple, I don't think they can recover. They are just too big and slow now.

China is a huge market for almost any manufacture, but I don't think the Chinese are as gullible or easily hypnotized as Americans.

Well you do have to look at the financials of the company and make an educated guess as to it's business and future. Then you wait for an entry point into the stock such as the one we just had. Apple is pretty much a no brainer since it has such a huge cash hoard and great products.
Apple's had haters since the very early iMac days so people who hate apple products doesn't dissuade me from being optimistic about its future. I plan to hold the stock for at least the next two decades; maybe even longer all the while buying more stock when the price dips sharply.
