I just read a heartwarming story in the NYT about how Apple really can't make a computer in the USA after all, because they can't find a source for their casing screws.

God forbid they use some non-proprietary screws instead of P5 strip-heads.

I won't say anything using fastener names.

I think the point that many people miss about Apple is, they are no longer a strong product based company anymore.

Their bread and butter is data, specifically user data.

Same with Facebook, Google, Netflix etc.

Icloud, actually any cloud storage is a backdoor.

Only because that's where the real money is, and they want a piece of the action. Because its an intangible service, their profit is near maximum.

I donít get it. Thereís a bug in the software which btw happens to all software companies. They fix it faster than most software companies fix bugs and people say theyíre going down? Also itís intresting to note that naysayers have been predicting Apples doom since pre 1997.

P.s: their stock is at 170 right now. When I noted earlier that Iíd doubled my stake at Apple, their stock was at 147

It's a pretty egregious bug though. All software doesn't let people spy on you with your camera.

You know an entire team was fired for that.

Heh heh. It's part of the hate that is so common for Apple, and these silly predictions have been a part of their history with regularly laughable predictions of "going down" since 1984.
