Was there a Super Bowl?

I totally forgot about the Super Bowl then I saw 3-3 after 3 quarters. Patriots win again, the game is becoming the Patriots Invitational.

I never really like the Super Bowl. Too hyped up. The fact that people even care about the commercials or half time show I find odd. However, if there is a team I'm interested in I'll watch. I can't stand the Pats, so did not even bother. This is being called the worst Super Bowl. I guess I didn't miss much.

oh darn. i missed it.

I consider the NFC championship the super bowl...'cept this year. The NFL screwed that up too. The pats only get to the SB routinely because they're in the most pathetic division in the league. That, and NFL = WWE.

My Superbowl plans every year:
1. Try to not find out when it is - this is a really hard one; easier to not think about it at all.
2. Try to not find out who's in it - not too hard most years, have to be careful because it bleeds into the general news - made it to Sunday night.
3. Try to not find out who won - made it to this morning.

Failing #1 , I usually try to get in a bike ride during the game... weather sucked this year though.

That's awesome, I'm have pretty much exactly the same plans for the super bowl and the world series.

I did pretty good on 1, I made it until hearing about the petition to replay a game in the off-week because of a bad call that reversed the game outcome, so I knew the next sunday was the off-week and the next sunday was the bowl. But I didn't learn the teams (if I heard them they didn't register)

#2 I made it til some time in the week before, I think I saw something on the TV in the gym at work.

#3 one son googled and told me it was 3-0 at halftime. About 9pm (pacific) I was talking on the phone to a different son, who had watched it with friends, and he told me about the outcome.

During the first half, I was playing MarioKart (CTGP) with my kid. then we went to church for evening service. (Weather was also too rainy or I would have taken my mtb out)

I assume that's the play the refs called wrong? Did they fail to call a foul on the defender? Or did they say the ball landed out and stopped the clock?

No call. A penalty or catch would have allowed the saints to run out the clock.

I don't mind the SB... always good for a bike ridè as traffic tends to disappear as kick off approaches.

I tend to DVR it, as their tennds to be a commercial or two that is fun. Couldn't care one hoot about the game.

I never watch FB (or any sports on TV other than Olympics)
Usually use it as opportunity to get out of town for a hike with less traffic.
Yesterday we got home about 6pm and I turned it on about 7 local almost exactly when the 4th quarter was starting.
I made my son watch it and we had a good time.

Because he can spend a few minutes to do something other than read books.
I told him he could practice guitar or cello, play lego, practice soccer drills in backyard, watch last quarter of SB or draw, etc, but not read. So he chose SB.

That's a great problem to have, a kid reading too much.

Yes old man Brady defeating the young Rams was good but I wanted to see a Brees vs Brady matchup. Being from kind of close to Austin I remember Brees as a HS QB and rejected by Texas and Texas A&M but Purdue took him and he excelled. New Orleans got screwed but that is not on the LA Rams it is on the NFL. Rams were not ready to play and IMO New England beat them with experience, especially in a defensive slug fest. I admittedly missed most of the Super Bowl so what I say doesn’t mean a hill of beans

Game was alright but like someone else said basically a defensive slug fest ... big completed offensive plays were virtually non-existent. Lowest scoring game in superbowl history and only the second time a team didn't score a single touchdown in a superbowl. They must of set the bar really low for the halftime show because I would of been more entertained by turning that off and just listening to a local radio station.

Super Bowl Sunday is a great day to get anything you want done and experience the smallest crowds. I've gone to a driving range and was 1 of 3 people there. Virtually any store (except for grocery) is as empty as heck. Relatively speaking the freeways are wide open and the streets are empty. This was especially true here in Los Angeles since everyone was glued to their TVs.
