Floridaman arrested for burglary minutes after leaving jail

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) — A Florida man was re-arrested within minutes after he was released from jail for burglarizing cars in the jail’s parking lot.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office says 37-year-old Casey Lewis bonded out of jail Thursday, only to be caught by deputies burglarizing several cars outside the jail.

Florida python: Massive pregnant snake caught using new approach

A national park in Florida has captured a record 17ft (5.2m) python using an innovative approach to tackling the invasive species.

The female snake, the largest ever to be removed from Big Cypress National Preserve, weighed 140lb (63.5kg) and was carrying 73 developing eggs.

Pythons pose a major threat to native wildlife in the state.

And from that paragon of serious journalism, Fox News:

Floridaman threatened to destroy town with army of turtles: police

A self-proclaimed “saint” was arrested in a coastal Florida town Sunday after screaming obscenities and threatening to unleash an army of turtles, an arrest affidavit reportedly said.

We used to go visit my grandma in Florida for vacation when I was a kid back in the 60's, and the news was never like this then - or I was just oblivious to it. It's hard to believe that I got more boring while Florida got to be weirder.

Not if they've seen you. Or heard about you.....

I think it would take meth or bath salts to get them interested.

Floridaman arrested outside Olive Garden while eating spaghetti with bare hands

Police had also received a report that the man, identified as 32-year-old Ben Padgett, entered the restaurant and threatened to kick the “ass“ of an employee, while also asking about the employee’s genitals.

"[An Olive Garden employee] then stated that after Padgett went outside and sat down on the bench and began eating food, with his hands, he locked the front door of the business to prevent Padgett from coming back inside," the police report reads
