Wow, people aren't brave anymore. Timmy Treadwell didn't need a cage.

Hmmm... "Wildlife Safari" in Winston, Oregon used to allow one to drive through the lion enclosure. One still does, but they've moved the lions out.

I think they prohibit convertibles and motorcycles. I assume no bikes in the park either.

One can get photos with cheetahs, but I don't think there is any actual physical contact between the park guests and the animals.

They have also penned up the elephants for a couple of reasons. First of all, the elphants apparently are destructive to the local vegetation (they now have steel trees in the elephant enclosure). Allegedly there was an incident where a circus trained elephant sat on a guest's car.

For a little extra, however, one can order an "elephant car wash". No guarantees the car comes out cleaner when finished than when started.

You can also do a tug-o-war with the lions, but the lion is on the other side of a pretty heavy duty fence.

Another attempted suicide-by-selfie, unsuccessful although this jaguar seems popular for SxS attempts. This is its second try at helping visitors earn Darwin Awards.

In a typically cheeky British vein, the BBC assures us the jaguar will not be punished. Unlike drivers of British Jaguars.

Thank goodness for an endless supply of thoughts and prayers. T&P for SxS all around.

I think Fox News beat them to that line.

The problem is actually illiteracy. There is a warning sign but these people are all Don/Dawn Reed.

We need to teach that in school.

There's a short, flat hike nearby to an ice cave. In an unstable low altitude glacier. The area around the cave is roped off and there are signs everywhere that basically say people die here, don't be stupid. You can see dozens of people in there at a time.

I heard the victim in this instance at least admitted it was her fault. Lesson learned one would hope.

Would I love to pet a lion, hell yeah!

Am I stupid enough to think I could walk up to one and sit on it, really really hope I'm not.

Stick to young cubs, isolated in zoo nurseries, and you should be OK.
