I知 an angry Redneck right now

I got back from a nice 35 mile ride to find a deer stuck in my gate severely injured. Poor thing had gangrene type wounds and was very sick. In other words the deer wasn稚 going to make it so I did the humane thing and dispatched it. I know what happen it got stuck in a high fence for some time or hit by a vehichle anyways this is happening too much because of these high fences. My place has a regular cattle fence that deer can easily jump so they can migrate properly. I hate seeing anything suffer like that so I did what I believe was appropriate. Ok rant over. I知 ready for the bunny hugging hate

yup the Bambi caught in the gate is very dead. If it wasn’t so beat up and sick I would have made some jerky.

I see a lot of dead critters along my rural rides but so far haven't found one injured. Usually they're clobbered pretty hard by vehicles. Today I passed a dead calf just outside a fence and wondered about that. Looks like it got through the fence by itself, but no idea beyond that. Occasionally deer get hung up in fences and die there -- saw that a couple of years ago.

I saw a dead human while riding to work a few years ago. He was on the ground with his back leaning up against a large sculpture by a famous artist. The police had already covered the body, but I could see an arm sticking out from under the sheet. My guess was a drug O.D.

In Montana you can legally take any deer, moose, elk or antelope you accidentally kill with your car. No roadside dressing and it must be for personal consumption. Makes total sense to me.

This is how I'm picturing the gate. Too bad it wasn't J.R. Ewing stuck in the gate instead of a poor innocent deer.

We have a few J.R wannabes running around Hondo but they are more like Hank Hills from the animated series.

Ok I was telling the poor deer about how gravel biking gave me a horrible case of jock itch and that was all it took. Thinking about it now, that was cruel and unusual punishment.

I came across a live but unconscious human years ago. He was face down in the dirt in the dark, it turns out he was a regular at the er due to consuming too many fifths.

Bummer. So I guess it did not make it into your freezer...? Here in Maine, in some towns and areas, we can be put on a local police or sheriff's list to be called in the event of deer/moose roadkill, to collect for meat. State Troopers donate to food pantries.

In the old days if an animal didn't pull its own weight they got rid of it no questions asked. I've always found it peculiar that people nowadays pay to nurse and keep crippled animals around. Sometimes we humans take the term "humane" a bit too far.
