Texas Panhandle, Amarillo through Wichita Falls, Lubbuck, Midland Odessa to Ft Worth and the whole state of Oklahoma. Most of those cities have been there, done that in a very big way.

I grew up in Amarillo and have seen a rope tornado go right past my living room window then stepped outside to see a supercell stretching for miles that produced a force 4-5 that luckily dissipated before it got to me or Amarillo. I've seen incredible damage in Lubbock where one that killed scores twisted a multistory steel downtown building nearly like a twist drill and made splinters out of some of the nicest homes all the way through the upscale part of town. Seen more damage in Drumright Oklahoma that wasn't wide ranging but indicative of considerable force enough to level 2 square blocks, where it briefly touched down, completely to the ground except a single bathroom that had been in the middle of a church. That was the only structure standing from where it sheared off half a small grocery store until the end of the next two blocks.

They are fascinating to watch but there's so much video out there nowadays with everybody having cameras that you won't even have to go there. The ones that touch down tonight will be on YouTube tomorrow guaranteed. Some guys seem to get hypnotized filming them until they're right up on them. And occasionally they'll seemingly turn nearly 90 degrees in direction or put a funnel down right on you or too close while you're concentrating on filming the one in front of you. So if you're going to do that for a living you're competing with lots more video than ever before so I can't imagine you'd get wealthy at it but would have to take more risks than ever before just to sell it.

Oklahoma . . . "Where the wind goes sweeping 'cross the plains"

At least 3 of that one up on the tube. It's just a baby.

I currently live in Jefferson City... which was hit just two nights ago with an EF3 tornado. It's just so shocking to see it on radar and then see the aftermath... looks like something out of a movie. Debris everywhere, homes and businesses destroyed. Thankfully nobody was seriously injured or killed.

Never had a "TORNADO EMERGENCY" alert pop up on the phone until Wednesday evening around 11:44 - just a couple minutes after it supposedly hit. It was an eery night as I watched TV and saw the debris ball on radar right over the city.

Thankfully we didn't receive any damage. Unfortunately, can't say the same for some others that live just miles away. My aunt received some minor damage to her property, but not too far from where she lives a car dealership was destroyed.

My dad grew up here... he was left speechless with some of the damage.

Canadian Texas is in the Panhandle just north of Amarillo and this was taken last night. This is a big boy and looks strong. No fun for those directly under one like this.

Lots of touch down funnels over the last two days all over the Midwest and one at the Denver Airport which is really rare to have them in the middle of the Rockies and at that altitude to boot. Video being posted through the day. This one two days ago.
