Cool ! She should join Bike Forums and the WFOO radio staff Since @skidder left we have an open chair. I loved my time in college radio and I'm sure she's enjoying it too. I watched the movie Pirate Radio on HBO or one of the other movie channels the other night. It's a great movie if you like 60's music and DJ'ing I'll bet she'd like it. It's probably on Netflix.

Wow. That was my first adult bike that launched my lifelong cycling lifestyle.

Same color, with wire baskets.

May she follow the Road

Welcome and keep up with it. Your post was particularly serendipitous, since just last weekend we held a Seventh Annual Fifty-Plus Forum Ride out of the Raystown Lake Resort; Altoona was the nearest town I recognized. I haven’t written my ride description yet to that thread, but will soon.

Compared to the hills of Metro Boston, I consider that I rode over two mountains, shorter perhaps, but with grades as challenging as I had encountered in Colorado (but that was 35 years ago).

I noticed the 50+ Ride listing soon after I joined the forum. Looked like a great time, anticipating all acounts of the event. Maybe next year for the Eighth I'll be able to participate!

All right! Root beer brown to boot! Same color as my '70 Varsity that I bought brand new for 97 dollars! I have a restored brown '75 Varsity in my collection to take it's place.

In '75 that would be "Chestnut" in Schwinn-speak & I have recently added one to my motley crew. I love old Schwinn's, even the electroforged heavyweights

I forgot to check out her show I'll try to remember next week.

Hey Jim,
Good to hear from you again! Hope Shay takes to her Schwinn as well as one got to you. I'm meeting her Saturday morning for a ride around town and campus with her. I'll try to post some pics.

Thanks Dynodonn,
I spent a whooping $20.00 for this '71 Suburban from a retired professor who taught in France during a program Shay's university sponsored. Rode it all over apparently. So it's already been inducted into the life of academia

And heavy it is! Fortunately, her campus and surrounding area is gentle slope only.

Apparently, Shay's become a bit of a fixture on campus: the girl on the old bike.
