Living in a Simulated Universe? Yay or Nay?

Much cheaper than building a real universe, Virtual Reality can save universe builders some serious coin. Are we just brains floating in a pan somewhere, imagining all of this is real?

Who cares... to you, it's real... live with it. What choice do you have, Neo?

Allow me to break your leg and abandon you on a lonely road somewhere. Then make up your mind about "reality".

I will just keep repeating to myself, "It not real pain, it's just ones and zeroes."

There was a good Star Trek episode where aliens made Kirk and his search party believe they were at the OK Corral and had to engage in a deadly gun battle. They were able to be hypnotized by Spock and convinced that none of it was real, and they defeated the AI that way, and the bullets fired at them passed harmlessly through.

Nick Bostrom's simulation hypothesis is logically sound, but there's no evidence for it.

Even in a real world, our experience is simulated.

IMO, life sucks too much to be a simulated universe. Although, I've heard those in charge have lost entire crops of us coppertops when everyone lives in bliss.

Bigfoot is an inter dimensional creature that shifts into then back out of our dimension. But I think it was heat and dehydration that made me see that.

Maybe you should have signed up for the "Three's Company" version of the universe, as Jack Tripper.

Another example of a bad interpretation of the observer effect: The simulation theory made sense until I looked at it. And suddenly it became BS.

It's a slide show. When the record goes BEEP the next universe begins.

That sounds more like a "film strip". Remember those?

All someone needs to do to prove this theory is to do some act that causes the Matrix to throw an error code or blue screen.

Would you recognize an error, if it occured in your reality... how do you know you haven't experienced one yet... deja vu for instance.

Don't expect a BSOD... that is just a simulation in a simulation.
