I would rather be tortured by John Tesh music that listen to country. My cows can’t stand country music either they only go emo around 5 PM when I throw out cattle cubes and hay.

You sound like a West Coast person Hondo, who's currently trapped in the body of a Texan.

BTW, this is the greatest country-western song ever written:

Well, I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison
and I went to pick her up in the rain
but before i could get to the station in my pickup truck
she got run ned over by a damned old train

and I'll hang around as long as you will let me
and I never minded standing' in the rain
no, a' you don't have to call me darlin', darlin'
you never even call me
well I wonder why you don't call me
why don't you ever call me by my name

Even my sister won't shine my shoes,
My cousin is blind,
Won't polish my knob,
All I've got is my cow,
A gay steer named Bob

Country-Pop you mean? Traditional country music is dead, IMO.

I wear because it's slimming as hell ... and hides dirt well.

You gotta love Johnny Cash, he was so good, he didn't even need to sing, he just "talked" his way through songs like no one else (other than maybe Burl Ives) could ever get away with.

My first thought when I read the OP. The early afternoon bar tender at my local plays the country music satellite station until the 5 p.m. shift change. The songs are stupid and lack the charm and intimacy of traditional country.

Just think of how many NBA Finals you watched with Phoenix, Chicago, Boston and LA...this played 12,000 times...

Besides co-hosting Entertainment Tonight, Tesh was a protege of Yanni

Man, this was manna from Heaven on weekends, it meant either CBS or NBC would have basketball on, when basketball wasn't a martial art.

They were playing it on FOX for a while recently as well.

Those are the years I truly enjoyed sports. My dad always swore it was just five men dribbling in their shorts, a medical condition.

What happens when you play country music backwards?

Your wife comes back, your dog comes back, and you get out of jail.

Consider that stolen. Not sure when I'll be able to use it, but ...

For what it's worth, I enjoy The Man in Black, Earl Scruggs, a lot of bluegrass too. I saw a meme that said "country music is a fancy term for farm emo" and thought it was hilarious. I hope this thread made some people laugh too.
