Miss Parsley is 15. I've got her on some medicine and she's chasing the younger cat around and stealing his toys. She came from the animal shelter and this is her forever home.

My last 2 cats were a rescue and a pampered princess. The rescue used to look at the princess and wonder what she had to complain about.

I have one cat that my neighbor picked up off the middle of the highway barely weened. I took it to the vet and he got a clean bill of health. Dumped for death then rescued and then medical checkup and place in a house all before noon. Lucky arse cat. Had an adult male and female already in the house that adopted him as their own kitten. He is referred to as a prince and will only drink from the prince’s water fountain.

Cats are a lot of things but loyal is not one of them.
And this ☝️ is just unsanitary. Exactly why I refuse to accept any food or drink when visiting with animal owners that treat them like people.

Can you explain your sink configuration? The spigot the cat is drinking from looks like a hot water dispenser...but probably isn't. The handle in the middle of the sink doesn't appear to have a spigot. And what is the clothes pin attached to???

Main sink uses a single lever that pivots from hot to cold. It's just visible under the spigot.
The gooseneck spout is probably filtered water -- almost a necessity in parts of Texas due to our limestone basin wells. Dang stuff wreaks havoc on water heaters and Bunn type coffee makers too. Lime scale destroys heating elements, and we often get sulfur bacteria in hot water heaters -- harmless but makes the water stink like rotten eggs. So we need sacrificial anode rods to protect the hot water heaters.
The little dispenser is probably for liquid soap.
The clothespin is for clamping our noses in case the hot water heater is messed up again.

Very common kitchen sink arrangement in Texas and Oklahoma.

This is my oldest cat Roger, five and a half years old. He had a severely blocked urethra about nine days ago and had to be rushed to the vet. He spent seven days with a catheter in place and he may well need a bypass surgery. I don't wanna tell you what I've paid thus far or what I will pay for his further medical care to make sure he gets a good life. He was dumped as a kitten and had a deformed rear leg that he walks on like a rabbit (still does). I promised him a good ride and that's what he's gonna get. He makes me happy every day
As a kitten

A little older

He loves his belly to be rubbed

On his way home from the animal hospital riding in the truck

That photo of you rubbing Roger's belly reminds me of my departed boy. He was just the opposite. Touch his belly and you risked losing a pint of blood. You could only get away with it when he was asleep on his back. And even then you were taking a risk.
He was such a sweet guy. He was FIV+ and eventually developed lymphoma. Spared no expense. Thousands of dollars went into prolonging his life and making him feel better. Got great results at first. Chemo shrunk the tumor in his intestines to the point where it was no longer palpable. He started behaving like his old self. But then we think something started affecting his brain. He developed nose bleeds and eventually stopped eating, which was causing him to lose about a half pound every two weeks. He also started to smell. I finally figured out why when, in the middle of the night, I went looking for him and found him lounging in his litter box. I think he had been doing that for several weeks. I moved his dry food bowl close to him. He put his face in it and pretended to eat without actually touching any of the food. At that moment I knew it was time. Vet made a house call and euthanized him that afternoon on my bed, where he loved to sleep in the sun.

My now departed buddy a couple of days after he was diagnosed with lymphoma. It was our final Christmas together.

I got home last night, I've been away since Wednesday celebrating my birthday in a snowy place @indyfabz knows.
It took a few trips to the car to get everything in. Both cats followed me out to the gate every time, then sat in the drizzle watching me. "Don't leave us again, hoomun!" They've been following me around looking happy since.
They weren't even alone, I had a lady friend stay with them while I was gone. She gave them treats they don't normally get. But she didn't scratch their ears just right.

My buddy gets bent out of shape when the panniers come up from the basement and I start packing them, rolling up the tent and stuffing the sleeping bag and mattress. So did my departed boy.

They know when I'm packing for a trip too. Parsley looks annoyed, Bear seems to think if he's cute enough I'll stay, so he rolls around and shows off his belly.

Reds peed on one of my panniers after I left it in the dining room after a trip. Only time he ever peed on anything. And he waited until I had gotten home from work so I could see him doing it.

You need a new cat, indy. Meet me in Winthrop and we'll make it happen. I'll be there in May supporting a friend for an ultramarathon she's doing, and the highway will be open by then.
