Your post is an example of why "appeal to authority" is a logical fallacy. If you are such an "expert", why did you say dumb things in this thread?

Yeah, they stopped improving those when wired ones became available like they stopped improving the cart when bikes and cars were invented.

They pretty much perfected the Walkman types 30 years ago. The only limitations are availability of the rare earth elements or the ceramics used.

Wow... try to imaging how much better it would sound if it were directly wired speakers... not digitally compressed and chopped. Of course, if they are MP3s, at low sample rates... it doesn't matter. And music enjoyment is quite subjective... you likely are not listening to symphonic music for dynamic contrasts.

And with a BT speaker, at least you are not radiating your brain with microwatts of RF energy. https://www.rfsafe.com/bluetooth-rad...one-radiation/

https://www.phonearena.com/news/how-...-Buds_id115728

And if all you care about is that "the beat goes on..." enjoy those BT speakers. No dang wire to trip over, eh?

And try to keep in mind that my big "argument" regarding wireless earbuds is that the CHOICE to go wired or wireless was always available before... but now has been taken away, and somehow that limited choice is seen as an "improvement."

One divisive element? Powerbeats 3 have a wire connecting the two headphones, which may alienate some but the wire also adds further security if one falls out and it allows you to take them out your ears and hang them around your neck.
OMG, a wire. What a concept... gee, why didn't I think of that.

And hey, they are on sale...for about $111, cause... you guessed it, they are about to be superceded by newer more expensive ear buds... for $199.

Oh joy. And maybe nearly 9 hours of usable time, for the newer ones, 4 more hours than the more expensive stuff from that fruit company.

And in 2 years, ya get to buy 'em again. Don't forget your charger...

I love the sounds of birds in the morning and frogs in the spring... nature's orchestra! Oh, and the crashing of surf... the heartbeat of the ocean...

And what sound do I hate... the sound of traffic... that steady, yet irregular hiss and hum of tires on the roadway... it is terribly invasive and nearly ubiquitous. I have been in wonderful waterfront environments where the sounds of fish splashing and birds doing their thing is drowned out by that drone of motor and tires. I have been in isolated National Parks, where all I should hear is the beat of nature, only to be disturbed by the roar of a motorcycle or the jakebrake of a truck on a highway I can barely see.

At one point it was thought that some National Parks should be car free... that was squashed by America's love of "happy motoring..." SIGH.

If you buy Beats, you get what you deserve.

Six hours is the absolute acceptable minimum for a BT headphone, or any BT device period, IMO.

My over-the-ear Sony XB950s are good for 20+ hours, while the $20 Taotronics wireless BT adapter I pair with 10+ year old Klipsch wired earbuds will go 30+ hours.

Sounds of nature? Not here in the sprawl. Amazing how far away you can get from the freeway and still be able to clearly hear the freeway.

Agreed. However the times I listen to music is when there is primarily artificial background noise.

If you are listening in an environment where there is substantial background noise (traffic, airplane) then the quality of the music reproduction is not that critical - good is needed, not perfect.
Of course to an extent NC headphone can help address this, but not fully.

Ahhh, but my comment was made relative to "the sound of nature."

Outside of that, and in say a noisy office environment... or airplane, yeah anything might be better... even low sample rate MP3s through a low data rate BT connection.

But, as the poster several posts above stated... "nothing beats the sound of nature..." and I can truly agree.

I've got boxes of those too... I suppose they also still work in your XP based computer. Or are you running Win3.1?

One of the more interesting encounters I have had on roadways was a scene right out of a Marlboro commercial... on back highway, just north of Flagstaff. In amongst those pine trees... winding somewhat narrow road... a herd of cattle, being wrangled across the highway by a cowboy sittin' tall in the saddle.

Had to stop for a few minutes... we were the only motor traffic out there... the scene and situation were breathtaking.

Another riminder that cars are not the only "traffic."

That's Windows 7. I have no control over the operating system. Some machines are 10, some have to be 7 because of equipment running, and some are laptops like mine that they don't pay any attention to of which I don't want them to change me out of 7 which I will be inevitably.

And that's probably the first time I've taken those out from buried in a desk drawer in 20 years, LOL. I do have both Windows 95 on 31 disks at home somewhere and whatever version of Office that was around prior to CDs.
