A good non-glare 1440p or better resolution computer monitor?

I need a non-glare monitor with 1440 or better resolution. Any suggestions for something that is reasonably high-quality but not exhorbitantly priced? 27" would be about the size needed, but glare and resolution are more important to me.

It is a Samsung wide 1440p monitor:

34" SJ55W Ultra WQHD Monitor

Lists for $399. Costcow had it for $299. It is really wide and not curved, but the image quality is outstanding.

It isn't on Costco's website yet, so I guess it is a new offering.

Interesting. I have been in the market for a new monitor also and I'm always keeping my eyes open for a good deal. At the Samsung website it shows that the monitor tilts forward but if I look at the user manual it does not say anything about tilting forward. Can you confirm?

Not an ultra wide, but I just picked up a 4K LG 32 inch. 32UL500-W is pretty damn nice, low glare slight matte finish. The resolution is fantastic. Got it off of Amazon... For $309... damaged box. Two HDMI ports and 1 DVI, built in speakers and USB. I switch it between laptops, depending on tasks.

Easily displays multiple windows at 4K.

I've been thinking about a new monitor since the WFH started. Those both look like great choices.

Forward, meaning the top comes down while the bottom goes up? Not readily, but only slightly, if at all. I will double-check it and revise my post if this is incorrect. You can put it on a VESA mount and then you can tilt it however suits you.

The novelty of the wide screen is starting to wear off, and now I am thinking of either returning it or buying it a dedicated Mac mini (of which I already have far too many, but none go over 1080p). Right now I have it on a big ugly Linux box (it also has a Windoze partition I have yet to boot into) that sounds like a wind tunnel.

I have a surface for work and in normal times am on the road 4-5 days a week so I don't really need a monitor. When WFH started I stole a cheap 24" monitor from an old desktop that I use for stuff I can't use my work computer for, torrenting open source maps, copying .gpx files to my etrex, etc. Since it became apparent that WFH is going to last a while, I have been looking for a new monitor and thought the 34" ultra wide was the way to go and that costco monitor checks all the boxes I was looking for. Am I missing something? It may be a moot point anyway. My wife checked our local store yesterday, and they don't have that monitor.

I think the monitor is fine. When I OP-ed, I wasn't looking specifically for a wide monitor, but just something with > 1080p resolution and a non-glare screen (Apple seems to delight in highly reflective screens, and I hate seeing lights or a TV or window reflected in the glass. I do a lot of reading and writing and it gives me headaches.) When I say "novelty", I mean that. I still like it better than other setups where I have two separate monitors; I almost always wind up just using one 90% of the time.

I should add that my kid tried it out as a gaming monitor, and compared it to his purpose-built, dedicated one, and found it to be superior in several aspects. Overall, he prefers his for gaming, but this one for pretty much everything else. (This monitor is more for boring people like me who spend a lot of time staring at stationary or slowly advancing glowing rectangles with text and images in them.)

Thanks for the update. I'll be riding the Iron Porcupine for the next few days, but my wife said she would keep checking to see if our store gets any.

I just looked that up. Have a great ride. I need to get an "Escape to Wisconsin" bumper sticker as a subtle signal of my origins.

I'm finally in front of it now and remembered your question. I was about to type that it doesn't tilt forward at all, but then I tried a little harder and a very smooth tilting mechanism engaged. My iPhone level says it tilts about 1.5 degrees forward, but it seems a bit more pronounced than that. In any case, it is only a small forward tilt. I measure the max rear tilt at 16 degrees.

Thanks. I'm going to be in a Costco today and see how pronounced it is in person.

There was a stack there again today (we went in to look for something else that they didn't have).

It is about the same as my iMac's range of motion, if that helps.

Great. It was a good monitor.

Mine I assume is gone, along with the rest of my worldly possessions. If, by some total miracle it survives, I am going to buy it a newer mac mini if it can use the native screen resolution. The PC coped with no issues, and I could remote-display everything else on that.

The nice thing about mac minis is you can justify tossing a couple into your car during an apocalyptic event.
