August Photo Challenge: Dog Days

This month's theme is "Dog Days", inspired by the phrase which frequently accompanies August in the northern hemisphere.

De rulez:
- One photo submission per person
- Use your best judgement for how recent the photo is.
- You must be the photographer
- For voting, one vote for your favorite
- you may not vote for yourself even though I do it all the time.
- mail-in votes will be accepted, but discouraged.
- when voting, please use a black pen. Votes with blue pen will be discarded.
- The white zone is for dropping off passengers only, There is no stopping in the red zone.

I know this isn't literally about dogs. It's about enjoying life to the fullest before the gray dome of winter closes down on us, bringing another thousand years of darkness, and about being glad we went out into the world and harvested the photos we did, to get us through the indoor time ahead.

But it's ok if that includes a cute buddy who had never seen snow before and thought it was the best thing ever.

One dreads winter and here we can’t wait. Years back in 2002 I was at Glacier NP in July and some people walked by and I said to them It’s winter time. They looked at me like I was crazy until they saw my Texas license plate and immediately caught on to the sarcasm. Cool people shared a few brews learning about each others area of the world.

Can I abstain from voting because I'm in denial about summer coming to an end?

Right now we have a three way tie (if you voted for more than 1, I selected your first choice as your vote).

Winners are indifabz, dagray and Seattle Forrest
