.
...the smoke cleared here yesterday, and it appears we got some weather breaks that allowed a lot more fire containment and control.
I can't speak to hurricanes, because we don't normally get those here. I can proudly state there are no recent earthquakes of any great magnitude.

Made my own disaster this morning. So here I wait in the ED hallway for my CT scan. I have wonderful company, a couple of drug cops and their prisoner, some woman that needs to be sedated and a drink that's starting his detox.

There's a story here that you are not telling us.

What did you stick your arm into that you shouldn't have done?

And give no motor? the pleasure of knowing? As long as the pain medicine is working I will be able to laugh at my stupidity in talking some really bad advice. There's a big lawsuit in the making here, I will say that...

Did you climb on the roof of your house and fall off? Looks painful I hope you are doing OK. I will ice down some Coors Light for you.

Are you trying to poison me?

Maybe when I get home I will start a 'Guess how I did this to myself" thread.

Hint #1 I was trying to open something.

My house is still standing, remarkably. The distance between my house and my mailbox is larger than the distance from the mailbox to the fire-line. Many of my friends and colleagues lost their houses, so there is little solace, but there is a bit of relief.. I'm still in an evac temp situation, but ok basically. We are all fighting with each other now for entertainment.

He said he was in the ED ward, so now I guess he is going to sue the company that makes Viagra.

I guess I should have mentioned the rest of us surviving 2020, and should have accounted for people like Ahsposo trying to open the trap door in his free candy/Viagra van.

You know Ahsposo must be on good drugs since he didn't mention he's finally in a public place where not wearing pants is normal and hasn't suggested that's not his hand in that picture.
Get well soon you weirdo, and put some pants on before you leave.

...putting on pants is harder when you can only use one hand. Not an issue for you, because you don't wear them, but for a lot of people.

Because they cut my clothes off me, rendering them unwearable, they forced me to wear these out the door.

Glad you made it back to your van down by the river, and they didn't just dump you at the bus station.

...I had one of those 'cut your clothes off" deals over at the UCD Med Center here when I got dragged in on an ambulance.
I had managed to crash my bike pretty good, and knocked myself out. I woke up with a bunch of people handcuffed to their gurneys, too.

I think the ambulance guys take advantage of you when you can't tell them where they should take you. ****ers probably think it's a great joke.

For the record of the thread, the disasters that were looming in the Gulf this week missed me by a long shot. No rain, no nuthin'. Still wondering about jack pot in Beaumont, though.

more like a big old waffle iron. or bear trap.

really, really bad directions+my stupidity to follow said really, really bad direction+a total lack of safety stops, emergency stops, reverse, etc. imagine a snare with waffle iron trap. i hung by my forearm for an hour before they could cut me down.

my career as a concert pianist will never get off the ground now.

as fate would have it, my new next-door neighbor is personal injury attorney....

We can rule out your reaching into the dryer to get your pants out as the cause, my guess is you caught in one of your free candy traps you'd hung up in a tree. Whatever the cause, we're not going to be calling you lefty for a while.
