December Photo Challenge: Monochrome

There seem to be a lot of keen B&W/monochrome photographers on the forum. A wide range of options - it can be film, in-camera filters, post - processing, a natural monochrome like a snow or fog shot, or from a special camera that only produces B&W images (you know who you are!).
Just one image from each of you - it doesn't have to have been taken in December but make it fairly recent if you can. You have to have taken the photo. We will vote, tally up and announce a winner at the beginning of January. Since there was no challenge (or winner) for November my recommendation is that the December winner pick the theme for January rather than miss another month, but I'm open to suggestions. I'll try to move things along quickly in early January.

Here is my entry:

A good theme nondes!!!

perhaps starting the thread early like this one will give us time to vote and have the person responsible for the next thread knowing about it
closer to having to do it

my last change!!! From our presence here in Mendocino these Holidays. Point Cabrillo Light Station taken with a M10Monochrom

Kachess Lake. Cle Elum city lights reflecting in a cloud. This is the swim spot in the summer, but the ground was crunchy with ice when I was out shooting this.

Obviously we have not been as good at managing the challenge as you have been over the years Machka. We had to skip November because the timing didn't work out. We now have a December challenge that will determine the host for January (see the discussion) - unless you can think of a better way to move forward.

Somebody could start a thread for ideas about a theme for a January contest, people could reply with suggestions, whichever one has the most likes on Dec 27th (or some other date) could become the January theme. It seems more likely for the timing to work out for January if it happens ahead of time.

A mid-month bump from me - this shouldn't be that difficult! As a concession we can include selective colour, though I don't care for it that much.

Is there a way to control the size of photo when uploading it?

Looks like you uploaded that to Bike Forums? (You can upload photos somewhere else like Flickr and then only display them here.) If that's the case, you need to use software to shrink the photo before uploading it. If you're using a Windows machine, Paint.net is free and will do this and is pretty easy to use.

Hmm...maybe I should go back and finish "The Lighthouse" movie after all. Great B&W cinephotography but pretty depressing so far!

Happy New Year everyone.
We headed out for a walk this morning to get ahead of the weather so a bit late getting the vote going. Just to be sure, Seattle Forrest's entry is the first of his two images. And to answer DQRider's question, there's no prohibition against bicycle shots that I know of.
Please list your three favourite shots and don't vote for yourself. December's winner will pick the theme for January, so we should try to get the vote done quickly - I suggest we tally up on Tuesday next week (Jan 5).
Thanks for all the entries and lot of great shots here, but here are my picks:

I just deleted my reply with the second photo. I don't want anybody to get confused, and I don't want anybody to be influenced in an unfair way. It was fun to share because I almost never do any black and white photography, but now that voting is underway...
