not planning on it at this point.

By the time I qualify I expect to be able to pop in at the local Walgreens after work. Where I get all my vaccinations.

Thread moved from General Cycling Discussion to Foo.

Not for a long time unfortunately, here they start with the vulnerable groups. I am hoping my employer will offer it (they offered free testing over two periods in 2020).
Relative already has it as they are a doctor and any unused vaccines (apparently they go bad quite fast) are distributed to medical personnel. |

I'm 65, and qualify, but there's no vaccine available where I live. They had 1,000 doses available yesterday, opened for appointments at 9AM, all 1,000 spoken for by 9:15AM. I barely missed out.
I can be patient til it's my turn because I basically have no life between home and my (considered to be essential, but not that essential:rolleyes:) work. |
.I plan to get the shot (70+ is eligible in KY). But with the distribution mess, who knows when? BTW-anyone know where that P&R forum is that
is referred to when the Coronavirus forum was closed? |

I got my first shot thru the VA a couple days ago. No problems at all.
|
As soon as it becomes available, I'll get it. Then I will feel more at ease to go to restaurants and such. And therefore, it is then that something resembling a normal economy can begin to rebound. I suspect that I am not alone in this rationale.
That said, I expect that it will be summer before my [general population] demographic will be offered the vaccine. |
Got my first shot on 1/20. Just waiting for the email telling me when my 2nd shot is ready. Moderna.

I get my second shot on 2/5. Pfizer. Like KenCT the injection site was sore for a few days after the first one. I may be naturally immune now, but I'm not taking any chances!

take it for what it is...the covid vaccine uses a different mechanism to deliver the goods... good luck |
I should have linked a better source. There are also current reports on not taking Tylenol before the vaccine. https://www.wbrc.com/2021/01/23/expe...covid-vaccine/

Sent you private message. 50 years ago today I was on ground in Vietnam |
Both shots Pfizer. Healthcare worker. No ill effects.
It's important to note the mild flu like symptoms are not because they are using the virus in the vaccine. It's because the vaccine ramps up your immune response and those symptoms are the bodies way/reaction to fighting infection. You can't get covid from the covid vaccine. |
I hear the J&J vaccine won’t make you tear up if it gets in your eyes. :D
|
got my 2nd pfizer vax on 1/22 > no side effects at all :)
|
Pfizer. 1st shot January 7th, second shot January 29th. Older+heallthcare worker.... honestly I thought I'd be higher on the list.
I knew about the 2nd shot reactions and a couple co-workers had to take the day off after theirs. (Really tough when the hospital is as busy as it is.) Wouldn't you know it- I felt fine the day after, enough to go and turn some dirt in the garden. And then I went for a ride on Sunday. I feel pretty darn good. |
Not for a while, but I'm super relieved to know both my kids got theirs. Daughter is a hospice chaplain, gears up head to toe in the facility but it's been a concern. Son is military and his peers are careless to put it mildly. I'll get it when I can.
|
I've recently been classified as a essential worker (I think they put all govt employees and contractors into that group now), and I volunteered, but haven't heard anything about being on the list.
I'm not terribly worried about it myself, but my mom lives with us and she has several comorbidities, so I'd really like to make sure she's protected, since I run 99% of the errands for the household. As soon as it's available, she and my wife will also be getting it (they may wind up getting it before me). |
