Hey, if you want some real exercise.... shouldn't it be "Coors Heavy" or better yet... That Aussie beer in the oil can. Fosters.

I think you'll get more excersize running to the bathroom after drinking those "things" you call "beer".

Back a few years....OK, OK,...decades........ at one party we to put the keg of beer in the bathtub full of ice, right next to the toilet. Here we all are in the front room partying, suddenly the bathroom door kicks open, and one of the guys is pouring beer into his mouth straight from the keg nozzle, and peeing into the toilet at the same time, stopping only long enough to say "Hooked up direct!"

The beer stories that can be told and should be told and this is a great place to start. Share your beer day stories even knowing how bad they are you see I left out embarrassing anyways the tales to be told will be interesting and entertaining.

Mine is plastic jugs from cat litter, filled with water to use for dumbbell and *some* kettlebell exercises. I don't do overhead swings with jugs filled with water inside the apartment.

I keep about half a dozen of those in various sizes, pre-filled before last week's Arctic weather blast, so I had plenty of reserve water for emergencies. Our water never went out but a friend's did so I gave her a few containers of water.

This story popped up today, touting the "farmer's walk" or farmer/rancher workout -- basically, just doing physical labor as exercise.

It made me laugh because I just call that "grocery shopping."

When I first resumed cycling in 2015, I mostly planned to bike only to the store for errands. That was just a one or two mile round trip. Even that was hard back then. I was in such bad physical shape I'd need to stop every 400 yards, wheezing and huffing my asthma inhaler.

Eventually I started making excuses for longer rides, up to 20 miles, just to visit a different grocery store for better beer selection. But I quit drinking and lost that excuse.

By 2020, five years into cycling, I was in pretty good shape but still had chronic pain in my lower back and hips. Bone scans showed no problems with my bones or joints. All muscle, so I figured I needed to work on strengthening that area.

So last year I started walking more for errands. Pretty soon I was carrying up to 50 lbs in my backpack and both hands. I still usually carry up to 40-50 lbs of cat food and cat litter home from the nearest store, about a mile. A few times I've carried one 15-20 lb jug of cat litter in each hand for the mile walk home. Yeah, I stop every 400-800 yards to give the hands and arms a rest. But it's basically that "farmer's walk" exercise in that article.

On the plus side, I don't need to "exercise" so much at home. My errands *are* my strengthening and physical therapy sessions now. Now my home PT exercises are only the range of motion that I don't get from walking errands.

Just lifting cat litter boxes out of Walmart to the truck is a workout.

I "rake the forest."
Makes the forest nicer looking, prevents fires (supposedly...) and lifting all that stuff into the truck to take to the shred yard is... as you say "a workout."

It would explain things if he wants to go the fixie route. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
