It pains me to say I kind of resemble Ahsposo, but I realized after I got my first motorcycle 30+ years ago that I had a lot more fun with it on Sunday if I had 1 less beer Saturday night. I didn't drink that much (and still don't), but drinking 1 less beer made more of a difference than I thought it would.

Good BP this morning. Didn’t drink yesterday so there must be a correlation. Curtail beer maintain good BP or party too much have a stroke and die prematurely? Hard decision I think I’m going to dust off my hiking shoes charge up my GPS incorporate some hikes into the physical fitness regime.

Two thoughts:

1) My theory is that diet pop is worse for you than sugary pop. Sugar isn't great but at least it is actually a foodstuff. Artificial sweeteners not so much.
2) As someone suggested above, when the time comes to open your first beer again, get better beer. IT fills you up faster than the 'easy drinking' beer that comes in 24 packs. When I buy a few cans of a local microbrew I drink ~one or two per day. When I buy Bud or Canadian or PBR I drink four or five in a sitting and still feel very unsatisfied. I'm drunk but not full.

Back when I was in my early 20's and drinking more than I should I decided one New Years eve that I wouldn't drink for the month of January. Back then that was a huge deal. I continued doing that each year. Shortly after that I bumped it up to 2 months,. The next year to 3, then 4. The longest I ever went was a year and a half. As it stands now at the ripe old age of 65, I never take a taste until either Halloween or Thanksgiving. My taste for alcohol which I thought would be with me for life pretty much disappeared. I have no cravings and when I'm in my "drinking mode" i.e. November and December I drink maybe once or twice a week. Never to excess.

You can do it.

Notice he didn't say anything about her not drinking. Imagine how much she must drink to put up with him for this long.

Well...someone has to keep the balance in the universe. I guess that means I need to increase my beer intake to compensate for Hondo.

Day 2 I’m starting to get weak I made it past the beer cave and got my two monster energy drinks you know the 4.50 for 2 deal I’m sure is nationwide. I feel like I am making the beer gods angry. After an hour lifting iron and about 4 hours of yard work the ice cold beer is calling. I think I will make it past day 2 ... I’m going to be honest when I’m back on the nectar of the gods I will post it. There is a disturbance in the Beer Force lol.

What about Fosters oil cans? I would drink 2 of them when camping out in west Texas and it was just enough to feel good. Without any hangover ruined the next day’s bike ride or hike.

Fosters?

Easy to give up beer for a month if you were never really drinking beer in the first place.

Our governor is a genius so I will probably go back into my cave with several cases of cheap beer we can’t do anything right so the heck with it. One step forward then three steps back. Minus Two? Now I’m confused lol.

Hondo beer strike collapses after day 2... texans were sad to hear that the great Hondo Beer Strike came to a sudden and unexpected end tues nite when the main beer faster gave up and downed a quart bottle of Corona ... many had hoped that the guy might be the long awaited hops messiah destined to to bring temperance to texas but once washed with the devils rain always a a damned drinker ... others compared the beer swilling to ground hog day for the trailer parkers ... and some even claimed the Hondo man's fall was a foretelling of the rapture now expected to consume west texas before the start of 6 man football season ... in any case REPENT for sin is as close as your next brewsky

Didn’t crash on day 3 of no beer. Took a dose of CBD oil so I think I found an alternative plus it took the ache out of my shoulder.
