Our youth may not be doomed after all

I had on my AC/DC uniform and my KISS Destroyer mask on this morning on a routine grocery store run. Stop by the store to get a Monster energy drink. Young girl clerk maybe about 20. Liked my uniform She stated it weeds out the narrow minded people in this town I told her itís my way of telling ugly nasty people to #*#*#*#*#*# off. Made my morning a lot better...

A lot of younger folks today are fairly well versed in the music of 1970s. When I was young in the 70s, I can't say we had nearly the same knowledge of the music of the 1920s. We knew a few of the blues artists, but that was about it.

^^^ Pop music changed a lot from the 20s to the 70s. From then til now itís not nearly as much.

Iím sure you are noticing that 1960s music is disappearing from advertising and radio, though, except for really popular songs.

I was on the beach in my chair last summer. A couple of young fellows, tatooed everywhere but their face, were next to us, surf fishing and playing loud hip hop music.
I nodded off, but awoke to a Conway Twitty tune from the 1970s.
My tatooed neighbors had substituted some Conway Twitty in their contemporary music.
I gave them a big thumbs up, though, I have never been a big Twitty fan.
-Our youth are a little more complicated than we give them credit for.

I've noticed this as well it's too bad. Really starting to miss the Motown sounds.

Another good sign: my 17 y.o. nephew can drive a stick-shift vehicle! I had to go to Home Depot to get some electrical stuff for repairs at my brother's house, nephew went along so I let him drive my 5-speed truck. He knocked it out-of-the-park, shifting it smoothly all the way there and back. Guess my brother really is bringing him up the right way.

I have to stream something to hear anything from the 50s or 60s. The stations have trouble finding sponsors for that era music.
