We had a swamp cooler when we lived in Del Rio. Do those things still exist?

A fan that big isn't used very often at my place, but it's a masterpiece of redneck engineering...... right up there with my back in the day race shop water heater and driveshaft heat exchanger wood stove contraption.(say that ten times real fast )

Also, the race crew named my contraption a rather fitting name "Ungawa the Fire God"

Ungawa

Fire…Meat…Beer

A few screws to keep the frame intact and Redneck Fan is alive

It’s spinning doesn’t show up in photo. I think the frame will last one more summer. LOL

It pushes a lot of air not particularly very windy but it can pull heat out of a fairly large area. Great for the garage when it is hot.

Even cheap beer is getting expensive. Beer cave over 11 bucks for a 6er of XX I was whatever it’s a convenience store. Went to the regular grocery store which always has the best beer prices. XX about 50 cents cheaper. Getting expensive having a gravel biking problem in a drinking town.

...they are more popular in the places with low humidity, like here in the Central Valley.
I don't know why you don't see more of them...cheaper to run and easier to fix than A/C.

I had one in an older house down in Merced once.

They work better if they were part of the original house design.

...once it was legal here, the devil's lettuce became remarkably pricey. They do have excellent quality control, though.

No kidding about the prices! I got a MMJ card prescribed for my PTSD. I don't use it. I quit smoking weed and drinking six months ago. I was spending between $200-$250 every week on weed, beer, and booze. I still yearn for a drink, but the weed not so much. I'm holding on. I feel better from not drinking and using the hippie lettuce, and every time I tell myself I'm better off without it, it becomes a little easier. Maybe I'll be completely over it when I'm dead.
