Just got second jab of Moderna

Now waiting 15 minutes then Iím out of here lol. Kind of relieved but I understand you must be careful this isnít over yet. 6 straight days of bike riding so I am spent. Perfect time for a few days off the bike to recharge and get over any symptoms of the vaccine if any. 3 minutes to go ..

Hopefully soon we can get back to normal. Iím at the Hondo public library updating my phone because my HughesNet out in the boonies is so slow it takes hours here with real high speed it took about 10 minutes. I feel a slight buzz nothing too bad. Now to get something to smoke as in food but Iím tempted to go to the hood and get some real smoke lol. Good thing you have the vax process started.

Maybe we all better avoid the Hondo, Texas area the next few days just in case you have a bad reaction to the vaccine:

Get my second Moderna in a few weeks. I've heard it's rough, but everyone's different. Kudos!

My second one wasn't noticeably different from the first. YMMV. I think I felt a bit weak on a ride a couple of days later, but since I am weak to begin with ...

Yup, feel a little buzz. Going to smoke some chicken thighs on the smoker a kick back maybe with a cold beer. Nurse said if you get a fever or feel like crap to take a Tylenol or something similar. I took the shot on my left arm since I’m right side dominate some advice I got off a KISS forum I jabber on as well.

This is my own theory, but on both Moderna shots I felt light headed and did afternoon group rides that made that feeling go completely away. I think getting my mind off of vaccinations and getting the heart and blood pumping had a positive effect on any discomfort. I had heard the 2nd was more likely to cause flu-like symptoms (my wife had it pretty bad) so I took 2 Tylenol tablets a couple of hours before the 2nd shot on the recommendation of a school nurse that works with my wife.

I again felt light headed and the arm soreness started sooner, but while posting to Bike Forums during my 15 minute waiting period, I saw a post that said taking Tylenol might reduce the effectiveness so I decided I wouldn't take any more unless I started feeling really bad. I never did feel flu symptoms, just the sore arm as with the 1st and I believe exercise played a role.

My wife got pasted pretty well by her second Moderna. She was down for two days, really, and took off work on the third. Then, on the fourth day, I saw an article about how the second Mod shot could be bad, especially if you had chicken pox as a kid (which she did). She got the shot on Friday, and on Monday her arm was still red and rash-y.

I got Pfizer, life has been OK.

I had chicken pox so far so good but it only been 2 1/2 hours. I guess I’m going to find out in 12 hours. I’m starting to hear the Russian language but I can’t understand what they are saying. Something about nanobots or something like that. Anyways if I feel ok great if not it will pass nothing I can do about it now. However I did notice the second dose burned a lot more than the first.

I had Pfizer, the first shot was nothing. No reaction at all. The second shot gave me achy joints and a bit of a low grade fever... Didn't "knock me down," but certainly curtailed my activities. Oh and the reaction was the second day, I felt fine on the first day. No redness or swelling at the shot site. I felt quite good on Day 3... of course now... well, I have this unrelenting desire to eat brains, but other than that...

My wife had Moderna... Both shots resulted in a dizziness for her... The second Moderna resulted in a large red area about the size of a softball in diameter on her arm, which lasted about 3-4 days after the shot.

Back in June, I had my first shingles shot and a tetanus booster... One for each arm, on the same day... within 4 hours both arms were "lead heavy" and just moving a mouse was a pain. I was sapped of energy, and just laid down the rest of the afternoon. Felt fine the next day, except for a touch of lingering pain in each arm. But overall, I'd have to say my reaction to the Shingles and Tetanus booster were more than the Pfizer shot.

We all react differently. Watch for that desire to eat brains though... not a good sign.

I remember in Boot Camp how we'd all be lined up to get this whole array of shots... (I'd have to dig up my shot card to find them all). Later that day, half the company was out in their racks. The other guys were just fine.

My fist Pfizer didn't cause any discomfort at all. Couldn't even tell I got it when pressing the area.

The 2nd Monday at 3pm seemed to be fine at first. But then almost exactly 24hr later I felt exhausted. Not sick, not flu like, no pains, just exhausted.so that all I wanted to do was lay down. I still had mental focus though, kinda like how one feels after a century ride.

Then Wednesday morning after a great nights sleep I woke up with a screaming lymph node(s) around collar bone on the shot side. Swollen and tender. A known, but not common, reaction. The shot area and beyond was also very tender. Otherwise OK no sick feeling and didn't feel exhausted again until the afternoon and had another solid nights sleep.

Thursday still a bit tender/swollen, but notably reduced and went for a 25mi ride at tempo. My HR was mostly typical, but didn't drop as much at stops. I didn't feel weak or lightheaded, but occasionally had waves of body nausea, mostly when I stopped at red lights. I felt much better & energetic overall after the ride and that persisted.

Thurs night still a bit tender arm/node, but by Friday no more tenderness or tiredness at all even with pressing, felt fully back to normal. My morning 25mi ride pushing hard tempo was just like it always was.

My wife and I both received our second moderna yesterday. Went on a 20 mile ride with a fierce west headwind in the afternoon, it felt good.

This morning she texted me to say she was sore and too tired to workout. I was out in the woods clearing a mountain bike trail of fallen trees. Worked my butt off and had a good workout doing something different. Left arm is a little tender.

Like one of the other posters, I smoked a chicken for dinner and ate almost half of it. My wife didn't have much.

I got "Pfizer'd" in February and March. The day after the first dose i had a mild headache all day long (and I never get headaches), the day after the second dose I had a weird 'flushed' sensation all over, like I was starting to get sick, but it was gone the next day. No fatigue, fever, nausea, or aches & pains after either one or since the second shot. .

Yup, was feeling good more anxiety from getting it over with then at 9pm lights out now 11 pm wide awake sore as hell arm similar to DOMS the day after intense weight training. I finished my smoked chicken had no appetite then BOOM hungry so ate a good portion on chicken with a salad plenty of ranch dressing. Admit to having some Bud Lights but that is just another S Texas day so normal. Friends say tomorrow you will feel crappy some say it wasnít that bad some day it sucked depends on the individual. Just happy to be done with it.

Finally got my first Moderna jab Wednesday morning. I was scheduled for the J&J single shot this week, but that was cancelled due to concerns over possible connections with blood clots in some patients -- no apparent statistical significance or confirmed connection to the J&J vaccine, but they're being cautious because of the skepticism and hesitancy over vaccines. Fortunately the clinic was able to reschedule me immediately for the Moderna shot.

I felt fine until 1 pm Wednesday, then suddenly felt achy and sleepy. Took a nap, woke at 5 pm still feeling achy. But suddenly felt much better by 6 pm, and no additional side effects more than 12 hours later. Injection site on the shoulder is a bit tender but no worse than with flu shots.

I won't be surprised if I continue to experience intermittent minor reactions over the next day or two. But my immune system is kinda weird due to an autoimmune disorder that overreacts to everything. Seasonal sinus allergies make me feel pretty much the way some folks describe their reactions to various vaccines -- headaches, muscle and joint aches. For the past year I've had most of the symptoms of COVID, minus the actual infection. But that's been pretty routine for me for about 20 years, and worse the past couple of years since my thyroid quit working. Other days I'll feel fine, as if nothing were wrong.

It'll be interesting to see how I react to the second jab a month from now.

I get mine Tuesday. I was fevery and tired for 36 hours or so after the first shot. (Had covid in January.) Planning on the same thing this time, but hoping for the best. Everyone I know that had Covid has had brief side effects from both shots, pfizer and moderna

Got my 2nd nanobot shot (Pfiz) on Tues. Arm was ever-so-slightly more sore than the first. Essentially no side effects worth mentioning for either. I'd feel worse if I had had light beer.

I feel like I got run over by a car. I trained 6 days in a row on my bike before the second Moderna so I think it is training soreness amplified by the vaccine. Very tired and just want to kick back but my appetite is good. Basically I feel like crap lol but I believe by tomorrow I will be back to normal. Then dealing with UPS on a lost package and getting the typical runaround is irritating especially today. But heck a small price to pay to be protected from Covid-19. However I’m still wearing my mask, washing hand and using common sense. Avoiding pockets of the anti vaxxer Hee Haw clans...
