Jab or Shot?

I adopted the British term Jab over Shot. Yup I got the shot and people think with a gun? especially here in Texas USA. Listening to the BBC they use the term jab so that is the term I use. Iím going to the grocery store then I will be getting the shot I hope not fatally. Getting the Jab is much better

I just got my 2nd "jab" this past Wednesday and the side effects made me feel like I had been "shot". HOLY SCHNIKES!! It is definitely worth it to be inoculated, but I sure didn't feel good on Thursday.

I kind of like "jab"... but only for COVID.
"Flu Shot" is a term that will never go away.

I feel like "jab" is one of those alternate slang-y terms that are thrown around more often (especially in news stories) than they are able to remain "cute"...

Jab is less inflammatory in the very tense US atmosphere the past year. You can bet NPR workshopped the term before choosing to adopt the Britslang term "jab" rather than "shot" in a nation where shot usually implies a lead cocktail.

perhaps in light of all the shootings, jab might be a "softer" term.

Personally, I am far too upscale to get a "shot" or your common "jab"; I demand only premium "injections".

I compromised. I got stabbed. Funny, these little needles are more like a stab. I'm used the big ones being slid in. The needles spec'd in bicycle terms. 14 and 15 gauge. The ones they use to draw (sometimes multiple) pints of blood. (Whole and for the platelets.)

Best British jab ever -- 1970s light heavyweight world champion John Conteh. By midway through his rein his right hand was frequently injured, and he outboxed the taller, rangier Yaqui Lopez over 15 rounds, almost exclusively with the left jab and hook off the jab, mostly using the right near his chin for defense.

Very underrated boxer. To some extent Conteh blew his legacy by enjoying his celebrity status and partying a bit too much. He appears on the album cover for Band on the Run (Paul McCartney and Wings).

If the COVID jab works as well as a peak Conteh's, the Super Cooties will be swinging at air.

The left is a "jab". The right is a "shot".

Now if the Hee Haw clans get the jab we might get back to abnormal sooner.

If you take The Fauci Ouchie you will turn into a snowflake. After the second Moderna shot I was fluttering around like a snowflake or a butterfly I don’t know which one. ???
