My first venture into any sort of social media was on a cat forum for "parents" of cats with diabetes when my boy Sabre developed diabetes.

I suspect this was likely the first or among the first photo I posted.

I think my first foray into social media was shortly after purchasing my first digital camera (which I still have) - a Fuji S602Z. I seem to recall posting this on the DP Review Fuji camera forum... but that was a long time ago and I have no way to verify it, so you all will just have to trust me on this. :-)

EDIT: Confirmed that this image was posted by me on DP Review, Fuji FinePix Talk, Aug. 26, 2002.

Good ol’ Ben, from a “show your dog” thread on another forum - 2005.

added: Good topic after all - interesting to go back through old posts that are still out there.

Appears to be the first photo I posted on FB. Maybe 2009. Probably selected it because it was handy and I needed a cover photo. Second day of a two-day charity ride that I did for 23 consecutive years before retiring from the event because 7,000+ riders made it into a zoo.

One of the first, if not the first, photo I posted on Facebook. Taken in 1988, I'm with my girlfriend, now my wife, diving a wreck in Long Island Sound near the Connecticut shore. My dive partner took the picture, she never went diving.

No facebook, instagram or twitter accounts for me, but I was on another forum before BF. Iron History is a site dedicated to appreciation and collecting of vintage weight lifting equipment. By comparison it's tiny - but very similar to the C&V section here in that folks talk about & post photos of their rare acquisitions. In the '20's - 60's a lot of small regional companies produced weights. The most well known, York Barbell out of York PA has a history very similar to Schwinn.
I enjoyed the clean-up and refurbishing more than lifting, whereas with bikes I enjoy the riding more than wrenching

notice the pitting has been filled with caulk before painting - circle T plate on the right was a mystery, no one knew where they were based

Keller Foundry out of Knoxville TN was an actual foundry that made just a few weights under their name

Vic Tanny was a west coast gym that branded their own plates - Reading, another PA brand from steel country

Brooklyn strongman Dan Laurie branded his own equipment

Bump, last day to post a social media photo from your past. Either @Machka or myself will assign numbers 1-26 for Wednesday night's Powerball drawing tomorrow.
