I'm Going Full-On Lurker Mode

As of this point in time, I am considering going into a period of posting inactivity here on BF, and other forums. Its getting pretty hard to speak earnestly without someone taking offense at any little thing you say. Despite decades of education and experience, the basic truth is that nobody really gives a rat's ass what I say, especially if it takes them more than 5 seconds to read it. The world is changing and I'm still on board for the ride, but I think I'm going to the back of the bus and chill. I'll still post in the Lies thread, but for everything else, I'll be keeping my comments to myself.

Yup I’m waiting for some e mail or quote I sent from 15 years to appear so I can get cancelled and have my turnip farm taken away. Worse thing my 2 dogs and 7 cats will be confiscated by animal control. I called them a bunch of buffoons online back in 2006

I was HEB and the clerk said white bread I am offended I was trying to find wheat bread. I demand a public apology! I will never shop at HEB again and I demand all bread be labeled neutral bread! I will be back at HEB buying some beer and something for the smoker and have some politically incorrect fun. Rain is on the the way from that hurricane in Mexico. Rare coming over from the Pacific Ocean.

OK Boomer!

Seriously, as long as what you're saying isn't blatantly over-the-top derogatory/offensive, just keep voicing your opinion on a subject and don't care about who takes offense. And if they do, just ignore their response. I like to hear from a wide spectrum of points-of-view on a subject, especially from those with education backgrounds who know how to articulate themselves, even if their opinion doesn't exactly match mine. We can all learn things from a multi-sided debate on a discussion forum of any type. But don't voice your opinion on using WD-40 as your favorite chain lube, trust me.

Yeah, all the other breads are known by content or style, not color... "rye," wheat," "potato," "pita."

I think you need to setup a sensitivity rally and protest HEB, and have them change the name to something more appropriate, such as "bland bleached processed wheat" bread.

I'm safe enough in here with you guys. A reply or two wouldn't hurt.

Lol, you got us baby boomers pegged. Its pretty hard to develop a thick skin when so many are whacking away at it. By the way, WD40 is great for a quick chain cleanup... but use some lube after!

Just come back I like hearing what you have to say. At times I get tired of this forum but I知 always lured back in lol. Refreshing to me what people have to say from all of the country and the world. Listening to local Hondo Texas people talk can get vomit inducing I might even make few people throw up but that is how it goes I guess. I知 going to drink some beer and smoke some pig and rock out why not?

You see, THIS was what Trollheim was for. A place where you could just relax and say whatever little thing was on your mind; if it offended, no one cared. In fact offensive was expected.

But, alas, it is no longer a functioning meeting place for those elite that called it "My kinda place!"

You should hear me cuss at the TV No doubt I would be canceled from everything everywhere. Ahsposo refuses to acknowledge that he responsible for indirectly conning me into purchasing Rolling Stones tickets. I’m going to try to convince Ahsposo to go to the Atlanta concert lol. Ice cold beer and a bacon wrapped pig loin on the smoker makes me happy. My primary care doctor not so much. The doctor admits to his 4-5 beers a day though and says his colleagues in San Antonio think Hondo, Texas is a town of alcoholics. They might be right

Good for you and your personal sanity, but you're one of the 'good guys' and your silence will cause BF's ahole percentage to tick upwards.

I also have been trying (not very successfully) to throttle back on BF. I don't join threads like I used to, especially in P&R. If it's not a net benefit for my life (or at least somebody else's), why bother?

I'm going to have to come down there and smoke some beer and drink some pig with you some day! The trouble is, I usually wind up chugging a beer that someone put their smoke out in, drink so much I'm sleeping with the pigs!

Puh-lease. You are the one who is trying to hurt someone. And the only rights you have on this private forum are those the moderators and admins say you have. (I know. Damn Constitution!) Don't like this place? Fine. Leave. Find a forum that better suits you. But seeking attention and affirmation in doing so is, quite frankly, rather lame.

P.S. I was just helping a member with trip planning the other day, like I have helped many others over many years. I also recently shared a report of my two-week adventure in September. Etc. How about you? Got anything besisdes whining about being a victim?

There is a difference between whining and whining while claiming someone else does not contribute anything useful to the forum. The irony.
