Dogs have Newton's laws.

I don't think anyone who's ever had dogs or cats will be surprised by this. Scientists showed dogs animations; when something moved in a way that it shouldn't in the real world they act surprised and show interest. My cat Bear loves tennis balls because they bounce in unexpected ways which pleases him greatly.

I was just telling my Vet how my dog's favorite toy was one which bounced in unexpected directions when tossed. I was telling the story while my dog was being put to sleep. Leukemia.

Mortality is another one of those laws with which we all must comply. Our last dog made it nearly 19 years, and her last moments were hard for us. We got another dog whom we’ve grown to love, but he is very uncaring about laws, rules, or anything else.

We had a cat that did what we called physics experiments...the easing of something off the counter or table with his forepaw until it fell. He would watch it intently while it fell, but I don't recall even once him checking on the item once it landed.

We had a dog that would take a ball and drop it at the top of the second story back stairway, let it bounce down, and would run down and catch it before it finished bouncing down all the stairs. Then he would run up, and do it again. And again. And again.
