I need ideas

I have a friend who is doing a 24-hour Mountain Bike Race in Winter Park, CO this Saturday and Sunday. I'll be there to assist him in the pit both days, I want to give him a good luck charm of some sorts but something cool for a guy!!! He is doing this race solo and on a Single Speed. CRAZY GUY!!!
Any ideas.

Perhaps a Lucky Rabbit's Foot (from a dollar store) for him to tie onto his Handlebars? Nice and light, eye-catching reminder without being a real distraction.

Maybe a mantra written on paper that he could carry.

I can tell you that that the nicest thing during the 24 hour races I've done is having someone meet you at the transition during the early am laps.

He's doing solo, so I would make sure to meet him at the transition with warm food, a calf massage, a recharged battery for the light, a fresh diaper and current standings.

Solo single speed is brutal.

OMG Telenick I know.
He came in second place at the Mountain Bike Leadville 100. On his Single Speed.
But all your suggestions I will do as far as food, massage etc.

A Livestrong bracelet (if they do not already have one)

He has a Livestrong Bracelet that he only wears in his races, I actually thought about giving him mine to wear too.

Of all the gifts I've ever gotten as a "good luck" or "good job" token, my favorites have been hand made. Wearing 2 Livestrong bracelets may make him feel a bit cheesy.

If you want to go the bracelet route, perhaps head over to a craft shop and pick up some fat yellow and thing black beads and make your own LS bracelet with black beads instead of letters. I think it would look quite cool and unique.

Example:
