Hi all! I am coordinating the Mississippi effort for a National hurricane relief effort called "Project Backpack". This was a project started in MD by three girls wanting to help children affected by Hurricane Katrina (you may have heard this story on NPR or seen it on CNN). The idea behind the project is to generate backpacks full of love and kindness by stuffing them with personal items, toys, and school supplies to children of all ages displaced by the hurricane and left with nothing. The backpack gives them something of their own. This has quickly become a National effort so check the website (www.projectbackpack.org) to see if there is a coordinator in your area - or volunteer to become one. It would be great to see the cycling community come together to help this project be a success.

Thanks
