Not a nice photoshop job at all. Not a bad Photoshop job, but if they wanted to be really fancy (and take an extra ten minutes) they could have altered the lighting to make the two sources agree a bit more. That would have been nice.

Still funny though. And there's always the possiblity that it's real...

Maybe it'd be a bit better if the boat had it's other half back.

You can still fix it!

Also there are several people missing from the fishing party. Where is the mayor and LA governor?

hehehe. Even being a bush fan, I still found that to be funny. I'd be careful boating down main street though. With all that looting going on- might accidentally lose your fish or worse yet accidentally hook a looter.

OMG, I Got a looter. Starts reversing line in opposite direction. Start the engines!!!!!

I was really sad when I saw Snopes picked this up. If they have a page, it means there are stupid *******s out there who think this is a real picture.

I do believe the idea, if this photo is in the same series as this, http://www.boingboing.net/2005/09/06...h_you_wer.html, is that the two photos were taken on the same day. It's not supposed to be a good photoshop, nor is it tasteless; it's journalism.

Journalism is supposed to be reporting the facts, and the fact is that photoshopped pictures are not factual representations.

....but journalism is way past the 'facts' by now, so none of it matters, really

This picture demonstrates the juxtaposition between what is "real" and what people feel is "true".

Reminds me of the joke going around the office about John Roberts being asked how he felt about Roe v. Wade. In the joke he responds, "I don't care how those people get out of New Orleans."
