Picked up a DVD copy of "Breaking Away" as part of an Amazon.com order for some more bicycle repair books.

I've seen it several times since it was released in 1979 but this was the first time I was really able to sit down and take it all in.

Love it!

Paul Dooley's character is just hilarious.

"ZucchINI. LinquINI. FettucINI. I don't want any "INI" in this house!"

LMAO!!!

I love the scene where Dave is racing the Italians, perfect music score.

This is a great movie. I'd never watched it and my sister who knows I love cycling bought it for me. Another good one that I just watched recently is "A sunday in Hell"

Funny how some of my favorite sports movie relate to the state of Indiana.

Breaking Away, Hoosiers, Rudy.

"He was as normal as pumpkin pie. Now look at him."

My first racing bike was in that race. I bought a Colnago Super from Bruce ***en who was an extra in the race.
I'm waiting for HDTV to actually FIND it.

I went to the video store to rent it, but they didn't have it. Guess I'll have to break down and buy it.

Ahh... can't wait to continually tell my daughter (who is only 14 months old) that the first movie she ever watched was Breaking Away. It was on one of the cable channels the day after she was born. I still remember sitting in the hospital room with this new little bundle on my lap and we were watching the Cutters show up the frat boys at the Little 500.

I love that movie.

The music from the "Drafting the semi-rig" scene is Mendolssohn's Symphony No. 4 in A-major Opus 90 aka "Mendelssohn's Italian Opera".

The "sorority seranade" is "Marta M'Apparti" from the opera "Martha" by Friedrich von Flowtow.
