When did VH1 stop playing music videos?

I was just looking at VH1 at the online TV guide and had to go through about 12 or more hours before they actually had music videos on.

WTF? I thought the VH in VH1 was for "Video Hits".

LOL....I've done the same thing for the same reason a few times too. Watching some country videos is like a great comedy. It's kind of like an "over the top" movie where they really overdo the dress, accent and "schtick".

I don't know the date. But they moved the video channels for MTV and VH1 to a higher channel number that requires a more expensive cable purchase.

VH2?

I was wondering about that. BET plays music videos. CMT plays music videos. VH1 and MTV...heck I don't even know what they play anymore, but I haven't seen a music video on either channel in about 2 years.

VH-1 does all those "I Love the 70's", "I love the 80's", "I Love the 90's", and those "Where are They Now?" shows.

MTV hasn't played music videos since "Beavis and Butthead".

VH2 has great videos. The classic concerts are great.

VH1 hasn't played videos for years. and when they do, they're all current videos.

I really wish that we could get VHIE and MTV-E here in the states.
the European versions are so much better, in that they actually play
videos, and it isn't the same 3 or 4 crap songs. I mean seriously
how many times can we listen to fiddy or gwen before we gag?
give me wamdue project, chemical brothers, etc. stuff you don't see here.

Even MTV2, which was started up way back when to just play videos (because original MTV no longer played themmm) has stopped playing them too often.

We get another channel called FUSE through DirecTV that plays a lot more videos, but it's mainly that current fake-metal-rock stuff. They play tons of Green Day, if that means anything.

Videos are no longer 'ground-breaking' like they were back in the 1980's. Too many edits these days kind of makes me want to have a seizure....

....when they got the brilliant idea to show fat complaining has-been celebritys losing weight and living together in a house, a twisted version of the biggest loser, and another twisted version of the real world.
MTV doesnt show videos, just shows, and being a teen I really like the shows on mtv, but the set up mtv2 for rock/hip-hop music. But there also being infultrated with wildboyz, viva la bam, and [email protected]$$.

Oh my gosh...I was joking when I suggested VH2. I didn't know there actually was such a channel.
