Quattro pro/excel help please?

Hey,

I am trying to figure out something with quattro pro (I hate word perfect, but it came with the comp and my dad wont buy word!) and I need help.

I have this list going for my PMC donations and I have them numbers 1-150 and I would like to keep the first name at 1 second name at 2 and so on...But the problem is is that I want to add a title on top of that for things like "Name" "Address" "Donated" etc. But the only way I can do it is if I add a new row but that messes with the numbering of the names.

Can someone please help me make a titles at the top of the columns without messing up the numbering please?

Thank you so much!

hi565

(oh also I ahve tried to make a row 0 but it did not work out too well, pretty much it didn't work at all)

Create another column for just the numbers:

Number, Name, Address, Donated....

That way, you decide where and how your numbering scheme starts.

Creating a "Number" or "DonorID" column is the only way. It's common practice when creating tables for a database as a unique identifier for new rows.

if you are interested, check out http://www.openoffice.org/. it is a free, open source office package that works with MS office and WP.

I agree that a "Donor ID" column seems the best fix. I don't know about Quattro, but most spreadsheets will even do the numbers for you. Search the help for "automatically number rows" or the like. If it is a large sheet it will save you time and you gain a new trick.
