As a child (10 years of age and under), what did you do real bad that you hid from your parents/caretakers?

We promise not to tell.................

Naw, not me. My mother called me her little Angel. And my mother never lied.

Just wanted to know how bad everyone was as a kid, that's all.

It's a toss-up between reading under the bedcovers after lights-out, and sneaking a few extra Halloween treats. I musta been your role model Siu.

I did some really bad things as a kid ... I think the statue of limitations hasn't expired on them yet.. so I'll keep my trap shut... Although I did steal a pack of smokes from my dad when I was 7.

One time I almost burnt down my (dad's) new house . . Picture being locked out on a fridged night, having only an empty fish bowl & tiki torch lighter fluid + dried out leaves to keep you warm
-then add really bad judgement, and a garden hose as the only means of putting out the growing flames shooting out the top of the glowing red hot fish bowl. Finally, envision the massive fire ball & explosion that ensued and the bits of glass and burning debris all over my backyard deck. I concealed the evidence and he never found out. So I guess no harm, no foul

Hmmmm...

I didn't get into too much trouble when I was 10. I did have a math teacher who had a policy of giving you three swats if you missed three homework assignments. I got three swats about every third day. I never did homework. I only got through school and college because I almost always aced the exams. This was in the days before the school was required to contact parents before they busted your a$$. My dad never found out.

Most of these happened when I was more like 13 to 15 yrs old. These are just the things that my dad never found out about. I got busted doing plenty of other stuff.

1) Peeking through the fence to watch the neighbors have sex on their couch, (repeatedly)
2) Stealing all the sulfur-based fire extinguishers from the school and then setting them off in peoples' swimming pools
3) Sneaking out my buddy's dad's car, (repeatedly)
4) Hopping a bus to Austin when my dad thought I was spending the weekend at my mom's place
5) Sneaking girls in through my window

If any of these get back to my kids, I will deny them

Nothing more than petty theft, burglury, trespassing, damage to private property, jumping off buildings, urinating in public...

Gosh, I have a pretty bad track record as a kid But, look where I am now (college grad, done a lot of charity work, good job, great friends, helping my little bro with college) In my teens, I was encouraged to join the Police Explorers (junior cops), which helped a lot.

stealing cars...didn't get caught until I was 13

hustling for hookers - 'hey mister, want a date with my sister' - got a buck a john, my parents never found out about that.

running numbers for the neighborhood wiseguy...my dad was a cop, they never found out about that either.

Couldn't hide much from my parents....but let the nuns at the catholic schol i was only allowe to finish the 1st grade in say it all: "That kid is the anti-christ!" ....there's a prett funny story behind that

....as well as my childhoos restraining order where I was not allowed within 50 feet of Punxatawney Phil, the groundhog's day groundhog...for pissing him off whenever I had the chance.

....to the time I thought it was funy to microwave a dozen eggs, in the shell.

....the time I decided to let my pet hamster loose around the house, and he managed to run down the back of my mom's shirt when she was watching TV....my god I got hell for that.

.....and putting my grandfather's beer into the paint shaker.

I was a pain in the rump....if I have a kid like myself...I'm going to lobotomize myself.

Started a basketball on fire with rubbing alchohol and it caught some grass on fire, but it eventually we got it out.

I would put tons of salt, or pepper in peoples food when they weren't looking.

dunno cant really remember anything a whole lot.

Actually...since I'm home from work now....time for the story about the nun calling me the anti-christ.

I was 7 years old....and my parents, neither of which was catholic, put me in a catholic school because "the education was good"....yeah so good that I rarely saw a teacher since I kept getting put into the office....from everything from "Why should I care what some old guy Named Job did...my dad doesn't know it and he seems alright, so what the hell's the point?" (yeah, I learned some bad words along the way from my dad, and some of the rather profane movies he watched from time to time).....to the following event.

We were brought into the church for our weekly worship (I never understood this either...I was never raised to be religious)...and they usually splash water on us, which I never understood...well this time, after the splash, I found a dish of water to the right of the priest.

Being the rather thirsty and uniformed little 7 year old I was, I cupped my hands, got a handful of water, and proceeded to quench my thirst....the nuns lost it, and the priest had a look of shock on his face. Once he asked me why I done it, and I explained, he started laughing hystarically....however the nuns were not amused, and I nearly got expelled over it. They did end up allowing me to finish the year, but not come back for another.

....bummer...there was this Jenny girl who was hella cute, and totally into me too

I committed a series of particulary vicious muggings on frail old ladies but never got caught ha ha

OK I made that up and accept that everyone has done some naughty stuff but IMO there is something a bit unhealthy in dwelling on it and trying to derive some gallows humour from it

But maybe I am just a humourless old bore.
